La presente investigación evaluó los efectos de la interacción entre el bicarbonato de potasio (KHCO3), el fungicida iprodione y el hongo Trichoderma viride, para controlar el crecimiento y desarrollo de Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Para ello, este trabajo fue dividido en tres capítulos experimentales. El primer capítulo evaluó el potencial antagónico de cuatro hongos filamentosos (Trichoderma viride, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Trametes sp. y Trametes versicolor) contra Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, mediante confrontamientos in vitro y producción de enzimas como amilasas, lipasas, pectinasas, proteasas y celulasas. El objetivo fue evaluar la composición química y calidad de la carne de bovinos en diferentes sistemas de alimentación del estado de Puebla, México. Se realizó un muestreo en cuatro regiones: Trópico Este y Trópico Oeste donde la alimentación es en pastoreo más alimento concentrado y en el Centro y Mixteca, donde el sistema es estabulado con alimento concentrado. En cada región se definieron tres sitios y en cada uno se muestrearon 3 animales (n=36). Para determinar el efecto de la selección recurrente para alto contenido de aceite se evaluaron tres sintéticos de maíz de grano amarillo en tres localidades del estado de Chiapas en el ciclo de temporal Primavera-Verano 2008; estos sintéticos provienen de tres ciclos de selección producto de la recombinación de las mejores 50 familias de medios hermanos (FMH). Durante el desarrollo del cultivo y al momento de la cosecha se tomaron datos de las variables agronómicas; en las tres localidades se tomaron muestras de grano de cada una de las parcelas las cuales se analizaron en laboratorio para determinar el contenido de aceite y la proporción de las estructuras en el grano. To obtain an industrial strain with high lipid yield, the wild strain G0 of Geotrichum robustum was mutated by means of nitrogen ions implantation. Mutagenic effects of strain G0 by low energy N+ ion implantation were studied. The experimental results indicated that the survival rate curve took a ?saddle? shape, and the positive mutation rate was increased to 22.00% at the dose of nitrogen ions 2.0 x 10(15) ions/cm² when the survival rate was 28.60%. By repeated screening, a high lipid producing strain G9 was obtained. The biomass, lipid content and lipid yield of the mutant can reach 40.25 g/L, 71.14% and 28.63 g/L after cultured in a 5L fermenter for 8 days, increasing by 52.81%, 68.82% and 157.93% to those of wild strain, respectively. Background To study the relationship between intracellular anabolism and astaxanthin production, the influence of intracellular protein and fatty acids on astaxanthin production by four mutant Phaffia rhodozyma strains and their variations was investigated in this research. Results First, the content of astaxanthin in cells showed a reverse fluctuation in contrast to that of protein during the whole fermentation process. Resumo: Um dos principais desafios da coleta e extração de óleo de frutos de dendê (palma de óleo) é a manutenção da qualidade do óleo, de forma a evitar a liberação de ácidos graxos, que mudam as propriedades do óleo e, consequentemente, reduzem seu valor comercial. A liberação desses ácidos é atribuída à ação de lipases. Entretanto, não há um consenso quanto à fonte das enzimas que hidrolisam excessivamente o óleo, se ela é endógena (produzida pelo próprio fruto de dendê) ou exógena (produzida por um determinado microrganismo que colonizou o fruto de dendê). Recent advances have led to the development of inert diets for first-feeding marine fish larvae. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate fatty acid (FA) incorporation into larva using practical-type and semipurified diets as first food for larvae. Experimental microparticulate diets were fed to gilthead sea bream larvae, right from the mouth opening to day 21 post hatching. Five basal diets were compared, using fish meat or casein as main protein sources, and fish protein concentrate or casein hydrolysates and algae powder (Schizochytrium). While focus in oil-producing microalgae is normally on nutrient deficiency, we addressed the seasonal variations of lipid content and composition in large-scale cultivation. Lipid content, fatty acid profiles and mono- di- and triglycerides (MAGs, DAGs, and TAGs) were analyzed during May 2007-May 2009 in Nannochloropsis oculata grown outdoors in closed vertical flat panels photobioreactors. Total lipids (TL) ranged from 11% of dry weight (DW) in winter to 30% of DW in autumn. 50% of the variation in TL could be explained by light and temperature. This study describes the variability of important quality traits in gilthead sea bream produced under intensive conditions in Southern Europe and purchased in a French market (Nantes). Chemical, sensory and histological characteristics were performed on 18 samples delivered over a year. All fish presented far lower dioxin and DL-PCBs or heavy metals concentrations than the maximum limit level set by EC Regulation, being totally safe for human consumption. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the addition of Rhodomonas salina in the diet of Pecten maximus on growth, survival and metamorphosis success in relation to biochemical content. Food quality is an essential factor in the success of larval, post-larval and juvenile development. A diet rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids present an advantage for growth, survival and metamorphosis success.
