Variedades cultivadas y silvestres de jitomate (Lycopersicon esculentum), se encuentran aún en diferentes regiones de México. Sin embargo, la extensión de la diversidad y del grado de variación en características determinantes de la calidad entre acervos genéticos y entre poblaciones mexicanas de jitomate es desconocida. Este estudio se realizó para evaluar la calidad del fruto de 31 poblaciones autóctonas, originarias de ocho regiones del centro, sur y sureste de México, así como del híbrido Caimán y un grupo de 3 poblaciones derivadas. Un factor que facilita tomar una decisión óptima a los productores y consumidores de productos agrícolas, es la disponibilidad de información sobre los distintos mercados agrícolas. El presente estudio analiza los diversos factores que determinan la oferta y demanda de jitomate mexicano en dos mercados, durante el primer semestre del año: 1) el mercado exterior y, 2) el mercado nacional. A su vez, se analizó la interrelación entre estos dos mercados. Se realizaron cruzas a partir de accesiones de jitomate riñón, de Hidalgo, Puebla y Tabasco, con resistencia de tipo cuantitativa a Fusarium oxysporum, que fungieron como receptores, con un genotipo comercial de tipo saladet (Variedad. Río Grande), que fue el donador de polen, para obtener híbridos resistentes y con frutos de forma redonda y lisa. También se realizó selección a partir de jitomates riñón por forma redonda, lisa y con resistencia a enfermedades. Trichoderma harzianum 650 (Th650) and Paenebacillus lentimorbus 629 (Pl629) selected earlier for their ability to control Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium solani and F. oxysporum in vitro, were applied alone or combined with solarization (summer assay) and/or with methyl bromide (MeBr) (summer and winter assays) to a soil with a high inoculum level, for the control of tomato root rot caused by the complex F. oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici - Pyrenochaeta lycopersici - Rhizoctonia solani. A etapa de limpeza em uma linha de beneficiamento para tomate de mesa é muito importante, pois retira as impurezas externas dos frutos, todavia poucos são os métodos utilizados para avaliar a eficácia desse processo. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar duas metodologias com relação à eficácia do processo de limpeza. As metodologias estudadas foram: análise com o colorímetro e análise com o turbidímetro. This study presents the minimum number and the best combination of tomato harvests needed to compare tomato accessions from germplasm banks.
