Jatropha curcas L. ha adquirido gran importancia debido a su uso potencial en la elaboración de biodiesel; no obstante, no existe un paquete tecnológico para la producción de semilla. En este estudio se cuantificaron indicadores de madurez fisiológica, la calidad fisiológica y perfil químico durante el desarrollo de semilla de J. curcas. En una plantación de cuatro años de edad, se evaluaron dos periodos de fructificación y diferentes fechas de cosecha bajo un diseño de bloques completos al azar con tres repeticiones. Se marcaron flores femeninas en antesis para cosechar cada 7 días hasta que el exocarpo presentó dehiscencia. ABSTRACT This study aimed at assessing the quality of the physiology and health of the coriander seeds processed in a gravity table. This was investigated at two settings namely, I with angle X 3.5° and angle Y 3.1° and II with 3.9° and 2.7° angles, with five gravity table discharges (high, high intermediate, intermediate, low intermediate and low) besides feeding. The crops of passion fruit in Brazil are established predominantly by seedlings obtained from seeds that generally have low and irregular germination and dormancy, what are problems for passion fruit producers. The objective of this research was to study pre-germination treatments to potentiate the germination of wild passion fruit species seeds which could be used by the seed producers or farmers. Passiflora alata Curtis and Passiflora setacea D.C. fruits were harvested when they were visually ripe. Adjustment methodology of the tetrazolium test for viability evaluation of angico seeds PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira

Este trabalho teve por objetivo adequar a metodologia do teste em sementes de Anadenanthera peregrina (L.) Speg. As sementes foram pré-condicionadas por imersão em água destilada a 25 ºC por 14 horas. O tegumento foi retirado e os embriões submersos em solução de tetrazólio (pH 6,5) nas concentrações de 0,1%; 0,05% e 0,01%, sendo mantidos no escuro a 25 ºC por três e cinco horas e a 30 ºC por 24 horas. Avaliaram-se a intensidade e localização da coloração, presença de áreas leitosas e aspecto dos tecidos. Os embriões foram classificados em nove classes de viabilidade. Germination of guatambu seeds subjected to two light regimes PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira

Guatambu (Aspidosperma parvifolium A. DC.) is a species that faces extinction in different regions of Brazil. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of photoperiod on germination of guatambu seeds at 25°C. The statistical procedure used was factorial design with two factors. Factor A was seed lots (Mother tree A, B, and C) and factor B was photoperiod (dark and 12 h of photoperiod). Guatambu seeds are not affected by photoperiod condition during the germination process.

Agrochemicals and storage times on soybean seed vigor PAB

Abstract: The objective of this work was to investigate the potential physiological damage of the treatment of '97Y07RR' soybean seeds with different pesticides at different storage times, in order to define the optimal period of sowing. The germination rate, the germination speed index, and shoot fresh matter were evaluated. Thiamethoxam did not cause losses in seed vigor with increasing storage time; however, the other agrochemicals caused significant losses. Seed treatment should be performed up to 90 days before sowing.

Seed germination of Bowdichia virgilioides Kunth, under water stress AGRIAMBI

Bowdichia virgilioides (Leguminosae-Papilionoideae) is a native tree species in Brazil characteristic of the savannah vegetation. Seeds of this species were submitted to different osmotic potentials induced by polyethyleneglycol (PEG-6000) in order to verify their resistance to drought conditions. Seeds were previously scarified with sulphuric acid and incubated at 25 ºC with an eight hours photoperiod, at osmotic potentials of 0.0, -0.1, -0.3, -0.5, -0.7, -0.9 and -1.1 MPa. It was found that water stress resistance limit ranged from -0.7 to -0.9 MPa. This work aimed to determine the best environment for conservation of physiological quality of seeds of Cnidosculus phyllacanthus during storage. Seeds with 8.5% moisture content and 86% germinative capacity were filled in containers of different permeability, and storaged at different conditions during 360 days. The aim of this study was to identify physicochemical changes in ‘Limeira-IAC382’ trifoliate orange fruits, searching for the ideal harvest moment to obtain high quality seeds.
