Resumo:  This present work seeks reflection on the research works about culture in organizations. As time goes by, it can be observed that in Organizational Studies, as well as in the Organizational Theory, lies a great mosaic of research works on culture, which can be verified by the amount of authors who write about the subiect. It is on this symbolic pollution and proliferation of organizational studies on culture, that several authors lay their criticism. In Brazil, works and pieces of research on culture had gained notoriety in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Fischer & Mac-Allister (2001) report that, from the studies carried out on culture in the organizations, few actually tried to take over the challenge of associating Brazilian culture to Brazilian organizational culture. Finally, as pointed out by Denison (1996) researches on culture would be turning away from the study on the social and organizational reality and heading towards the organizational climate instead, studying the impact of the organizational systems on both groups and individuals.
