Energy Efficient Clustering in Multi-hop Wireless Sensor Networks Using Differential Evolutionary MOPSO BABT
Prasad,D. Rajendra; Naganjaneyulu,P. V.; Prasad,K. Satya.
ABSTRACT The primary challenge in organizing sensor networks is energy efficacy. This requisite for energy efficacy is because sensor nodes capacities are limited and replacing them is not viable. This restriction further decreases network lifetime. Node lifetime varies depending on the requisites expected of its battery. Hence, primary element in constructing sensor networks is resilience to deal with decreasing lifetime of all sensor nodes. Various network infrastructures as well as their routing protocols for reduction of power utilization as well as to prolong network lifetime are studied. After analysis, it is observed that network constructions that depend on clustering are the most effective methods in terms of power utilization. Clustering divides...

Response of the lung after pneumonectomy in alloxan diabetic rats BABT
Seidel,Amélia Cristina; Fagundes,Djalma José; Novo,Neil Ferreira; Juliano,Yara; Meister,Hugo; Bazotte,Roberto Barbosa.
In order to determine the response of remaining lung after pneumonectomy during diabetes, female Wistar rats that received an intraperitoneal injection of alloxan (D Group) or saline (C Group) were submitted to lung resection. Six days after alloxan injection (45 mg/kg), diabetes was confirmed. The rats were randomized divided in 3 subgroups: non-operated (NO), sham operation (SO) and left pneumonectomy (PE). Thirty days after the surgery all rats were killed and the weight and volume of the lungs were measured. PE-diabetic rats showed smaller lung weight and volume than PE-non-diabetic animals. The results demonstrated that the compensatory lung growth postpneumonectomy were not observed in diabetic rats.

A simplified model for A. Niger FS3 growth during phytase formation in solid State fermentation BABT
Spier,Michele Rigon; Letti,Luiz Alberto Junior; Woiciechowski,Adenise Lorenci; Soccol,Carlos Ricardo.
A simplified model to describe fungal growth during citric pulp fermentation for phytase production was described for the first time. Experimental data for biomass growth were adjusted to classical mathematical growth models (Monod and Logistic). The Monod model predictions showed good agreement with the experimental results for biomass concentration during 96 hours of fermentation. Parameters such as yield of biomass from oxygen (Y X/O), maintenance coefficient (m) and specific growth rate (µ) were compared showing a good correlation between the data and the model. An alternative method for biomass determination in this process was developed since a great correlation was found between biomass growth and enzyme formation.
