| The aim was to detect the presence of bundles of collagen fibers in the margins of the esophageal hiatus and establish if there is any relationship of these bundles with the anatomy of the hiatus. Ten adult male cadavers, with no gross anatomical alteration caused by trauma, surgery or disease, upon the esophageal hiatus were used in the study. A piece of anatomical structure comprising the diaphragm with the esophageal hiatus and adjacent tissues was removed, dissected and 10% formol embedding. | El término puente de miocardio es atribuido al conjunto de fibras musculares cardiacas, que a veces se sobreponen a un segmento subepicárdico de una determinada rama de las arterias coronarias derecha e izquierda. Polacek (1959) fue el primero en enfocar esta entidad desde el punto de vista muscular, de aquí nace el nombre de "puente de miocardio" siendo actualmente la más usada en clínica. | Morphometric studies were carried out on the brains of twenty West African Dwarf (WAD) sheep using frozen unfixed specimen. The mean brain weight was 69.14g, while the mean brain length and depth were 7.48cm and 4.17cm, respectively. The mean length of the cerebrum and cerebellum were 5.08cm and 2.27cm, respectively. The relative brain weight was 0.08% while the relative weight of the head was 0.8%. There was a significant difference (p < 0.05) in the weight of head, weight of brain, brain length and depth and in the relative brain weight of animals weighing 10kg and above, compared with those below this weight mark. Su conocimiento adquiere importancia en distintos procedimientos quirúrgicos, como la colocación de un drenaje en la vía biliar o una colecistectomía. A review of anatomical literature on the existing term used to describe these branches revealed that varying interpretations and descriptions exist among various authors. | This study was aimed at determining the morphology of the aortic arch in the sparrowhawk. For this purpose, arteries near the heart of six sparrowhawks were assessed. Latex injection method was applied to the three materials and barium sulphate solution was injected into the aorta for angiography in three other materials. | Entre el grupo muscular que realiza la aducción de la articulación del cuadril se destaca el músculo aductor magno, cuya porción superior de la parte aductora puede constituir el músculo aductor mínimo. En la literatura hay pocas citaciones sobre este músculo, más allá de la presencia de datos divergentes entre diversos autores.
