出芽期の低温に強いアカネダイナゴンと出芽期の低温に弱い斑小粒系-1の実生を15℃で低温処理 した時に,両品種の抗酸化酵素活性に違いがあるのかどうかを調べた。アカネダイナゴンの緑化実生を 低温処理すると,APX 活性やCAT 活性は上昇したが,斑小粒系-1のCAT 活性は顕著に低下した。しか し,黄化実生に4000Lx の光照射下で低温処理すると,斑小粒系-1のCAT 活性は上昇したが,アカネダ イナゴンのそれはほとんど変化しなかった。斑小粒系-1の緑化実生は,光のある状態で低温を受ける と代謝が乱れ,CAT 活性が低下して細胞内の過酸化水素が過剰となり,細胞障害を起こすのかもしれない。 Seedlings of 2 varieties of Adzuki beans – the Buchisyouryukei-1 variety, which is weak under low temperatures in the budding stage, and the Akanedainagon variety, which is resistant to low temperatures in the budding stage – were investigated to clarify whether differences in the antioxidative enzyme activity are associated with exposure to low temperatures (15ºC). Dados morfológicos referentes às fases juvenis das plantas são tão importantes quanto escassos na literatura. Neste trabalho, foram estudadas as plântulas e plantas jovens de Erythrina speciosa (Phaseoleae), Holocalyx balansae e Sophora tomentosa (Sophoreae), Swartzia langsdorffii (Swartzieae), Lonchocarpus muehlbergianus e Platycyamus regnellii (Tephrosieae), como parte de um amplo projeto com leguminosas arbóreas, que objetivou descrever a morfologia das fases juvenis, com vistas à identificação das espécies, fornecendo subsídios para trabalhos taxonômicos, filogenéticos e ecológicos. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo estudar o diâmetro do tronco, a fenologia e a produção de gemas em pessegueiros 'Aurora-1', enxertados no porta-enxerto 'Okinawa' propagado por sementes e por estacas herbáceas, em três espaçamentos (6 x 2 m, 6 x 3 m e 6 x 4 m). No 2º e 3º anos após o plantio das mudas (2005 e 2006, respectivamente), foram estudadas 13 variáveis na cultivar-copa 'Aurora-1', além de sete avaliações trimestrais de diâmetro do tronco, mensuradas a 5 cm acima e abaixo do ponto de enxertia. Abstract Coconut palm (Cocos nucifera L.) is one of the most important tropical species used by man, known as “tree of life”. In recent decades, with the expansion of coconut growing areas, limitations such as the occurrence of pests, uniformity of crops, adaptation to different ecosystems and others have affected the production and longevity of coconut trees. This review describes the major advances in propagation techniques of coconut palm, conventionally, by seeds and through plant tissue culture techniques from the mid-twentieth century onwards, as well as phytosanitary aspects that should be considered to mitigate the spread of pests and diseases. |

The objective of this study was to investigate the morphology, anatomy and germination behaviour of Phoenix roebelenii seeds. Biometric data were obtained by measuring 100 seeds extracted from recently harvested fruits and air-dried for one day. Four replications of 50 seeds each were previously treated with Vitavax-Thiran and then put to germinate in Sphagnum sp. in plastic trays at room temperature. Morphological details of the seeds were documented with the help of a scanning electronic microscope and then drawings were made with the help of a clear camera coupled to a stereomicroscope. Summer-planted onion (Allium cepa L.) can increase grower profits, but the production of seedlings for transplant is difficult. This experiment was carried out in Piracicaba, SP, Brazil, with the objective of studying the behavior of the short-day onion hybrid Mercedes, in its initial stage, under controlled greenhouse environment, as summer-planted onions. Four formulated substrates, two different numbers of plants per cell were tested, and 288-cell styrofoam trays used. Trials were set up in split-plot design (n=3).
