Der er en stigende interesse hos forbrugeren og i fødevareindustrien for at sikre, at vores fødevarer er sunde, af høj kvalitet og ikke mindst sikre. Dette kræver hurtige, pålidelige analysemetoder, gerne med mulighed for at automatisere analysen direkte at- eller online. Spektroskopi er særdeles velegnet til sådanne formål, og forskellige former for spektroskopi bruges allerede i fødevareindustrien, f.eks. fluorescens, infrarød og nærinfrarød samt lavfelts kernemagnetisk resonans (LF NMR) spektroskopi. The Australian National Standard for Organic and Bio-Dynamic Produce was first issued in 1992, and revised editions have appeared in 1998, 2002 and 2007. It is an export standard and serves as a de facto domestic standard. It is currently freely available for download. There is a proposaal that the copyright residing in organic standards in Australia be relinquished to a private company which licences and profits from the sale of standards. This article questions this standards-for-sale model and asks whether the community and the organic cause are better served by the standard remaining as an Open Access document, rather than a pay-per-view document. |

To evaluate the effect of climate, flock size, age and artificial cover on the use of range area, a study was conducted in 1994 to 1998, involving 5 farms with a total of 37 flocks of layers kept in commercial, free-range, organic systems. Flocks were visited regularly during the production period to record the number and distribution of hens on the range. 2. On average 9% of the flock used the range area, but with large variations both within and between flocks, and this was partly influenced by climatic factors. Range use was affected by temperature, wind, precipitation, season and age, and there was a tendency for reduced numbers of hens on the range with the time of day and increasing flock size. 3. Afin d'initier des recherches scientifiques sur la limitation des ravageurs et des maladies par l'utilisation de préparations à base de plantes, le GRAB (Groupe de recherche en agriculture biologique) s'est associé à plusieurs partenaires expérimentateurs en viticulture, arboriculture et maraîchage. Une expérimentation a été mise en place pour évaluer l'efficacité de préparations à base de plantes sur une maladie fongique : la cloque du pêcher. Eine Auflockerung von Fruchtfolgen mit Leguminosen wie etwa Erbsen bietet viele Vorteile, z.B. die Einsparung von Düngemitteln durch Ausnutzung ihrer Fähigkeit zur Stickstofffixierung, die Unterbrechung von Krankheitsinfektionszyklen in Fruchtfolgen mit hohem Getreideanteil sowie die Produktion von proteinreichen, einheimischen Futtermitteln für die Tierernährung. Insbesondere der Wachstumsvorsprung im Frühjahr, das höhere Ertragspotential und ihre höhere Stickstoff-Fixierleistung machen Winterformen zu einer interessanten Alternative gegenüber Sommerformen der Erbsen.
