| Additions to the Staphylinidae fauna of the Netherlands 2 Faunistic and ecological data on Dutch Staphylinidae are presented. Sepedophilus nigripennis (Stephens) is recorded for the Dutch fauna for the first time. Tachyporus abdominalis (Fabricius) and T. formosus (Matthews) must be deleted for the Dutch fauna; all previous records are based on incorrect determinations. | A revised key to the subfamilies, tribes and subtribes of the Cetoniidae (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea) is presented. Comments are given on the classification implied by the key, which includes several redefinitions. All the known genera (ca. 510) are listed under their tribe or subtribe, the position of several being different from that in Schenkling's catalogues (1921, 1922). References to recent synoptic literature are given. Eighteen new subtribes are proposed, the majority in the tribe Cremastocheilini. One new tribe is proposed, the Platygeniini. Attention is drawn to various new and neglected synonymies, original spellings, and other nomenclatural matters regarding family-group and genus-group names. The position of many genera is briefly discussed.... |

| The beetles of the county of Salzburg - a contribution to the survey of European Invertebrates (Coleoptera) Recently the author has published the book ‘Die Käfer des Landes Salzburg – Faunistische Bestandserfassung und tiergeographische Interpretation’ (‘The beetles of the county of Salzburg – faunistical survey and zoogeographical interpretation’). It contains more than 30 000 records, covering a period of more than 100 years. This large amount of information, combined with the co-operation with ZOBODAT (Linz, Austria), made it possible to conduct some statistical and biogeographical analyses. | In het kader van het project “Inhaalslag Verspreidingsgegevens Ongewervelden” in opdracht van het ministerie van Landbouw, Natuurbeheer en Voedselkwaliteit (LNV) doet Stichting EIS sinds een aantal jaar onderzoek naar de verspreiding van de beschermde gestreepte waterroofkever Graphoderus bilineatus. Bij eerdere inventarisaties van de gestreepte waterroofkever is gebruik gemaakt van een model dat de kans op voorkomen van de gestreepte waterroofkever in een bepaald kilometerhok voorspelde. Het model bleek een redelijke voorspellende waarde te hebben in gebieden waarbij gegevens over het electrisch geleidingsvermogen (EGV) en vegetatiedata gecombineerd konden worden. | Additions to the Staphylinidae fauna of the Netherlands 1 From a total of over 14.000 Staphylinidae, collected in The Netherlands and belonging to the Nationaal Natuurhistorisch Museum at Leiden, the more interesting species were selected for further faunistic study. These species were, according to the last available comprehensive data (Everts, 1922a) either known as rare, non-indigenous or, in one case, as common. This selection was completed by data from other museums, private collections and literature in which way an upto-date review of the occurrence and distribution of these Staphylinidae can be presented.
