Length and age at first maturity was estimated, and the distribution of the spawning stock of castaneta (Cheilodactylus bergi) was analyzed, with the aim of understanding the spawning activity and its relation with oceanographic parameters. Samples came from two research cruises carried out in the Argentine-Uruguayan Common Fishing Zone (CFZ) (SW Atlantic, between 34 degree and 39 degree 30'S), during the end of spawning period (May-June) of 1991 and 1993. The aim of this work was to analyze hydrological condition variations in Cienfuegos’ Bay in 2011 and its possible influence in life cycle and distribution of the green mussel Perna viridis. The hydrological parameters in the bay are described according to the campaigns performed in February, May and November. Samples from two levels (surface and bottom) were taken, in order to get water temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen. The results show the climatic seasonality influence (dry and rain) both in spatial as well as in vertical distribution of the observed parameters. In August 1996 acoustic methods were employed to estimate mackerel (Scomber japonicus) abundance in the Buenos Aires, Argentina shelf area of "El Rincón" (4,287 mn2), located between 39°- 40° 30' S. Results showed a biomass estimate of 77,260 t. ASIMRAD EK-500 equipment operated with a 38 KHz split-beam transducer was used. Midwater fishing trawls were employed to identify echotraces and to collect mackerel samples.Trawls 4 and 5 were the most successful. El presente estudio se llevó a cabo con el propósito de conocer algunas de las condiciones hidrológicas y ambientales presentes durante la formación, el desarrollo y la terminación de eventos de “marea roja” en la temporada invierno-primavera en la bahía de Mazatlán, ello con el interés de explicar su origen. Les données du Réseau National de Surveillance Phytoplanctonique ont été examinées dans le golfe de Gabes durant la période 1995-2005. Un intérêt particulier a été attribué au phénomène de bloom phytoplanctonique. En outre, nous avons examiné plus spécifiquement les variations spatio-temporelles des espèces responsables et les relations avec la variabilité des conditions abiotiques, essentiellement la température, la salinité et le pH. Les résultats ont montré que la période allant d’août à janvier, avec des pics en septembre et janvier, semble être propice à des efflorescences algales. The Kenya Agricultural Research Institute imported 12,300 curculionid weevils (Neochetina spp.) from diverse sources, for biological control of water hyacinth in Lake Victoria, as part of the World Bank-funded Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project in East Africa. In addition to the rearing and quarantine facility at Muguga, a second rearing facility was established in 1996 at Kibos, near Lake Victoria. The Kibos rearing facility and two community rearing facilities at the lakeshores, have produced approximately 100,000 adult weevils and 42,000 weevil eggs over a three-year period. El informe contiene los resultados correspondientes al desarrollo del crucero Módulo Huevos y Módulo Adultos del proyecto FIP 200-04-1. De conformidad con la metodología planteada en la propuesta técnica y con el fin de estimar en esta primera fase algunos de los parámetros biológicos aplicables para el Método de Producción de Huevos, a saber: proporción sexual y peso promedio estimado de hembras maduras, además de la determinación de las zonas de distribución y abundancia de huevos y su asociación con las condiciones oceanográficas, se realizaron los respectivos muestreos para el recurso anchoveta, durante el período de máxima actividad reproductiva del año 2004. |
