COMO evitar desperdício nas colheitas da soja, do milho e do arroz. Infoteca-e
O Brasil perde anualmente mais de 5,5 milhoes de toneladas de graos, apenas nas colheitas de soja, milho e arroz. Reduzir esse desperdicio, entretanto, nao e tarefa dificil. Este e justamente o objetivo deste video, que apresenta, de forma facil e rapida, as tecnicas e as tecnologias desenvolvidas pela Embrapa para evitar perdas na colheita dessas tres culturas. Destinado a produtores e tecnicos, este video compoe, junto com o copo medidor e o Manual do Produtor, um kit fundamental na guerra contra o desperdicio.

Optimal Switchgrass Harvest Strategies Accounting for Yield and Nitrogen Requirement Differences by Month of Harvest AgEcon

Extending switchgrass harvest over many months would require a smaller investment in harvest machines, but would result in a lower average harvestable yield per acre and would require more nitrogen fertilizer, less land for storage, and more land for growing switchgrass. A model was constructed and solved to determine the optimal strategy.

An analysis of a 1999 sample of 13 no-till producers indicates that over a reasonable range of cotton lint prices, ultra narrow cotton production may result in larger net returns per acre than conventional production practices. The largest percentage cost reduction is in fixed expenses. In general, total direct expenses per acre are also reduced, although UNRC usually results in higher seed and chemical expenses. UNRC has a lower total cost per pound compared to conventional cotton.

Optimal Management of Invasive Species with Different Reproduction and Survival Strategies AgEcon

In this paper, a numerical model is developed where the role of species life history and age structure for the optimal management of a harvested resident species which is exposed to an invasive species. It is shown that reproduction and mortality characteristics of both species as well as age structure of the invader at the time of invasion are important for the costs of invasions when the invader and resident species compete for scarce resources. Species with low juvenile survival and high reproduction is found to be most robust against invasions and more damaging as an invader. The Price-Elasticity of Stumpage Sales from Federal Forests AgEcon

This paper explores the influence of the behavior of the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management on effective public policy toward the national forests. It shows that fluctuations in stumpage sales from such forests have been large. Furthermore, those fluctuations could well have a significant impact on the price elasticity of harvest even with large stocks of uncut volume under contract. System analysis of harvest and sale patterns in nine regions during the period 1951-1992 shows that stumpage sales displayed little correlation with prices during the period; the positive price elasticity of harvest seems to have been induced largely by the behavior of logging firms. ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of ‘Ubá’ mango fruit submitted to mechanical damage. The fruits were harvested in the 2012/2013 harvest, and let to drop once on a flat, hard surface, simulating the harvesting process of ‘Ubá’ mango, which is to drop all the fruits of a plant when they are physiologically mature. Treatments consisted of different drop heights (zero, one, two, three, four and five meters), totaling six treatments. ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to characterize the phenology of different sweet orange, tangerines and tangerine hybrid varieties growing under the temperate climate conditions of Santa Fe Province, Argentina. Phenological stages were observed weekly during five consecutive years using a BBCH (Biologische Bundesanstalt, Bundessortenamt and Chemical industry) scale adapted for Citrus trees. Determination of seed physiological maturity and ideal moment for harvesting fruits to extract their seeds are important aspects to produce seeds with high quality. To identify the best period for harvesting eggplant fruits, associated with ideal resting period of the fruit for extracting seeds, an eggplant production field was installed in municipality of Ijaci, in the State of Minas Gerais, Southwestern Brazil. ABSTRACT It is important to understand the seed maturation process to determine the time point at which the seeds achieve optimum quality and the ideal time for harvest. This study aimed to study the maturation of Physalis peruviana L. seeds, based on flowering time and age of the fruit. This study was conducted from March to October of 2016 and 2017, in the city of Piracicaba, São Paulo.
