In the first paper of this series (Albuquerque & Brandão, 2004) we revised the Vezenyii species group of the exclusively Neotropical solenopsidine (Myrmicinae) ant genus Oxyepoecus. In this closing paper we update distribution information on the Vezenyii group species and revise the other Oxyepoecus species-group (Rastratus). We describe two species (Oxyepoecus myops n. sp. and O. rosai n. sp.) and redescribe previously known species of the group [O. daguerrei (Santschi, 1933), O. mandibularis (Emery, 1913), O. plaumanni Kempf, 1974, O. rastratus Mayr, 1887, and O. reticulatus Kempf, 1974], adding locality records and comments on the meagre biological data of these species. We also present an identification key to Oxyepoecus species based on workers. |

The Neotropical species of Genea Rondani, 1850 (Diptera, Tachinidae, Tachininae, Leskiini) are revised by the examination of type-material of almost all species and a large material deposited in many scientific collections. G. australis (Townsend), G. brasiliensis (Townsend), G. gracilis James, G. jaynesi (Aldrich), G. major (Townsend), G. pellucens (Curran), G. tenuirostris (James), G. trifaria (Wiedemann) were keyed and redescribed with the first descriptions of male terminalia. G. longipalpis (Wulp) was not included in this study as no material was examined and the available data are restricted to the original description. G. glossata (Townsend) is proposed as a junior synonym of G. trifaria. G. paulistana sp. nov. from São Paulo is proposed as a new... |

Corrections to the revision of Rhopalessa Bates, 1873 (Clarke et al. 2011), with the transfer of two species to a new genus, Rashelapso: R. durantoni (Peñaherrera-Leiva & Tavakilian, 2004) comb. nov., and R. schmidi sp. nov. (previously considered to be conspecific with Ommata (Rhopalessa) rubroscutellaris Tippmann, 1960 by the authors). Ommata (Rhopalessa) rubroscutellaris is now considered a junior synonym of Laedorcari fulvicollis (Lacordaire, 1868). |

Revision of the Leucosphyrus Group of Anopheles (Cellia) (Diptera, Culicidae). This is a comprehensive revision of 20 species of the Leucosphyrus Group of the Neomyzomyia Series of Anopheles (Cellia). Morphological description of the adults, male and female, male genitalia, pupa and fourth-instar larva are provided for each taxon in addition to bionomics, distribution data and systematic discussion for each species, including diagnostic characters. Identification keys for females and fourth-instar larvae are provided. When possible medical importance of each species is included. Illustrations of of the adults, fourth-instar larvae and pupae are provided. Distribution maps for each species are mainly based on the material examined; however, when possible... |

The genus Chalcolepidius is revised. Type specimens of 65 nominal species, except C. costatus Pjatakowa, 1941, C. fleutiauxi Pjatakowa, 1941 and C. viriditarsus Schwarz, 1906, are examined. Eighty five species are studied, of which 34 are synonymyzed and 12 new species described; three species, C. alicii Pjatakowa, 1941, C. haroldi Candèze, 1878 and C. unicus Fleutiaux, 1910, formely included in this genus, are not congeneric and are removed; C. validus Candèze, 1857 is revalidated. The genus is now formed by 63 species. Redescriptions, illustrations and a key for the examined species, and a cladistic analysis for groups of species are also included. New synonyms established: C. apacheanus Casey, 1891 = C. simulans Casey, 1907 syn. nov. = C. acuminatus... |

Five genera of marine fishes are recognized in the family Pinguipedidae: Pinguipes, Prolatilus, Pseudopercis, Paraperci and Kochichlhys, the first three being endemic to South America. The following South American pinguipedid species are considered valid: Pinguipes brasilianus, Pinguipes chilensis, Prolatilus jugularis, Pseudopercis numida, Pseudopercis semifasciata and Parapercis dockinski. Lecto-types are designated for Pinguipes brasilianus, Pinguipes chilensis and Prolatilus jugularis. |

The genus Coelosis with two subgenera, Coelosis s.str. [type species: Scarabaeus sylvanus Fabricius, 1775] and Eucoelosis subgen.n. [type species: Scarabaeus biloba Linnaeus, 1767], is revised and redescribed. Other four species: C. (C.) inermis Sternberg, 1908, C. (C.) bourgini (Dechambre, 1976), C. (Eucoelosis) hippocrates Blanchard, 1846, and C. (E.) bicornis (Leske, 1779) were recognized and redescribed. Coelosis (E.) denticornis Arrow, 1937 was not studied, and the original description is transcribed herein. New characters considered relevant for comparative studies and for species identification are presented. The subgenus Millotsis Bourgin, 1944 [type species: Coelosis inermis Sternberg, 1908] is considered a junior subjective synonym of Coelosis... |

The genus Eupempelus Bates, 1870 is revised and its taxonomic position altered in transferring from Cleomenini Lacordaire, 1869 to Heteropsini Lacordaire, 1869. The genus and the type species, Eupempelus olivaceus Bates, 1870, are redescribed and two new species added: Eupempelus illuminus sp. n., from Bolivia and E. spinithorax sp. n., from Ecuador. All the species are illustrated and keyed. |

Chariergus White, 1855 is interpreted based on C. tabidus (Klug, 1825) (type species designated by Thomson, 1864). Allopeba gen.n. is proposed for A. paranaensis (Napp & Reynaud, 1998) comb.n. (type species), A. signaticornis (Lucas, 1857) comb.n. and A. quadri-punctata (Lucas, 1857) comb.n. Rierguscha Viana, 1970 and its species are redescri-bed. The morphology of Chariergus tabidus (Klug, 1825) and Allopeba signaticornis (Lucas, 1857), including the mouth pieces, endostemites, wing venation and male and female terminalia, is presented. Key for the genera and species is added. |
