| En Ecuador se han reportado cuatro especies de pinchagua: Opisthonema bulleri, O. libertate , O. medirastre, O. berlangai, difíciles de distinguir a través de sus características morfológicas externas durante los desembarques, por lo que para estas investigaciones se las ha agrupado a nivel de género (Opisthonema spp.). Su captura se la destina para la elaboración de enlatados, prohibiéndose su utilización para la elaboración de harina de pescado. Se ha registrado una considerable declinación de este recurso a partir de 1985, hasta llegar a un mínimo desembarcado de 6 895 t durante el 2003; en el 2009 acumuló 22 528 t. | Se realizó el seguimiento a los desembarques de peces pelágicos pequeños en la costa ecuatoriana durante el 2008, los cuales se incrementaron en un 11 % con relación al 2007. Las especies que aumentaron fueron chuhueco (Cetengraulis ringens), sardina redonda (Etrumeus teres), y pinchagua (Opisthonema spp) en un 96 %, 80 % y 56 %, respectivamente, mientras disminuyeron los desembarques de macarela (Scomber japonicus) en un 50 % y anchoveta (Engraulis ringens) en un 25 %, mientras que botellita (Auxis spp) disminuyó en un 23 %, debido a la poca disponibilidad de alimento en la zona donde fue capturada y a las condiciones climáticas de su hábitat. | Length and age at first maturity was estimated, and the distribution of the spawning stock of castaneta (Cheilodactylus bergi) was analyzed, with the aim of understanding the spawning activity and its relation with oceanographic parameters. Samples came from two research cruises carried out in the Argentine-Uruguayan Common Fishing Zone (CFZ) (SW Atlantic, between 34 degree and 39 degree 30'S), during the end of spawning period (May-June) of 1991 and 1993. | Estimations were made on the basis of a subsample of 6,734 individuals of Merluccius hubbsi from the Argentine Sea south of 41°S. Length-weight relation potential regression parameters were a=0.00950863, 0.01093448 and 0.01096117b=2.90831652, 2.86558431 and 2.86583191 for males, females and total individuals, respectively. The Newton algorithm was used to minimize the residuals. Maturity ogives were estimated with the logistic model adjusted by no lineal minimum quadratic ordinates. Length at first maturity at 50 was 33.79 cm for males and 35.38 cm for females. | Dix stations côtières ont été prospectées dans la lagune de Bizerte en hiver 2001 pour étudier l’impact des conditions environnementales sur les plans morphométrique, trophique et de maturité des nématodes méiobenthiques. Nos résultats montrent que la croissance en largeur des nématodes libres a été proportionnelle aux charges sédimentaires en fraction fine et en métaux et ce parallèlement à l’individualisation de quatre morphotypes nématologiques. | An experimental group (N=7) of three females and four males of mutton snapper Lutjanus analis captured in the wild, whose gonadal development entered in a state of latency because of its confinement in the lab, was maintained under an artificial photothermal cycle of 10 months between October 2001 and July 2002 in order to unblock and estimulate again their sexual maturation. | Sequential population analysis on Long Tail Hake (Macruronus magellanicus)from the Southwest Atlantic. Years 1985-1995. VPA on the Long Tail Hake (Macruronus magellanicus), based on data covering the years 1985 up to 1995, was performed to assess the current state of the stock.
