A coalitional matching is a two-sided matching problem in which agents on each side of the market may form coalitions such as student groups and research teams who - when matched - form universities. We assume that each researcher has preferences over the research teams he would like to work in and over the student groups he would like to teach to. Correspondingly, each student has preferences over the groups of students he wants to study with and over the teams of researchers he would like to learn from. In this setup, we examine how the existence of core stable partitions on the distinct market sides, the restriction of agents’ preferences over groups to strict orderings, and the extent to which individual preferences respect common rankings shape the... |

ABSTRACT Guava is a tropical fruit that has a high potential for agroindustrial use, also known antioxidant property mainly attributed to vitamin C and carotenoids content. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of food preservatives, individually or combined, on the antioxidant properties of red guava nectar during storage. Nectars added of different additives were stored in the dark for 180 days and evaluated at the processing day and every 90 days for physico-chemical parameters, color, bioactive compounds content, total antioxidant activity (TAA), the microbiologica and sensory quality. Was not observed changes in quality parameters (P>0.05), since the guava nectars were presented in accordance with Standards of Identity and... |

ABSTRACT Mixing acerola pulp with whey, a by-product of the dairy industry, led to this study, whose aim was the development of a powdered beverage mix of acerola pulp, whey and maltodextrin (DE20). To determine the proportions of the mixture, a simplex-centroid mixture design was used. Different proportions of the mixture were dehydrated in a spray dryer at 175 °C. The results were evaluated in relation to hygroscopicity, moisture and ascorbic acid. Higher proportions of whey and pulp increased hygroscopicity and moisture, while maltodextrin reduced these parameters. An increase in pulp content raised the levels of ascorbic acid. The proportions (m m-1) of 50% acerola pulp, 25% whey and 25% maltodextrin resulted in significantly lower hygroscopicity (8.25... |

Anthocyanins show low-stability when exposed to different food processing conditions. Copigmentation is one of the main reactions contributing to the in vivo color responsible to the stability of anthocyanins. In the aim of holding the red color, copigmentation effect of organic acids (caffeic, ferulic, gallic and tannic acids) combined with anthocyanins in crude Cabernet Sauvignon (Vitis vinifera L.) grape skin extract at pH values (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.3, 3.5, 3.7, 4.0, 4.5) was evaluated in this research. The maximum copigmentation effect, revealed by the hyperchromic and bathochromic shifts in anthocyanin maximum absorbance wavelength, was obtained at pH 3.3 with every acid used. Anthocyanin stability was followed by measuring the loss of color, thus it... |

Abstract Performance tests in múltiple locations are essential to study the genotype x-environment interaction, as well as to identify superior genotypes and testing locations. The objective of this study was to evaluate the adaptability and stability of rice hybrids and inbred varieties for grain yield. Six experiments were conducted in rice-producing areas of Venezuela using a randomized complete block design during the dry season of 2015 2016. The ANOVA detected significant differences for genotype, location, and genotype-by-location interaction, highlighting the hybrid by location interaction. The Lin and Binns model identified the hybrids ‘RHA-180' and ‘HL23035H' and the ‘Soberana Fl' variety as adapted and stable. In the GGE biplot model, the first... |

Abstract The commercialization of beef is an activity of great relevance for the department of Antioquia (Colombia), particularly in the Urabá region. The objective of this study was to evaluate the fat content, lipid composition, and some indicators of lipid oxidation and protein in beef from the Urabá region. 72 samples of beef cuts (loin and neck) of categories 3, 4 and 5 stars were analyzed. There were no statistical differences (p > 0.05) between the fat content of cuts from the neck (11.64 ± 7.25 %) and loin (10.49 ± 5.60 %), or in the amount of saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fat. There was no difference between the samples evaluated for lipid oxidation (TBARS). The lowest protein oxidation (4.48 ± 0.21 nmol carbonyl compounds/mg... |

Abstract The mass movement of soils, are soil, rocks displacements or both, caused by soil water excesses in terrains due to gravity effects and other factors. The aim of this research was to quantify the moisture retention capacity of volcanic soils as a threat indicator in the mass removal phenomena. This research was carried out on soils of the Malteria - Las Margaritas road transept to Magdalena river, right bank of the Chinchiná river in the Department of Caldas, Colombia. Through soil sample design, 3 altitudinal ranges were stratified as follows: high, medium and low. In fact, representative plant cover was taken in the study area, sampling the combination of the following variables: "plant cover" and "altitudinal range". In total, 52 points were... |

In order to study the stability and adaptability of Tabapuã cattle for the characteristic weight at 120 days of maternal effect, we used methods based on linear regression. The analysis included differences in the expected progeny of five sire sin herds located in four farms in the states of Bahia, (herds 1and 2), Paraná (herd 3) and Minas Gerais (herd 4). The results show that the performance of bulls depend largely on the genetic variability of the matrices for different characteristics in herds studied, allowing the recommendation of a specific breeding herd. Analyses of adaptability and stability discriminated performance differences in herds. Bulls were identified as adapted and perfectly stable, bulls with general adaptation, and with specific... |

The mechanics of a tractor-trailer system moving up and down sloping ground under different operating conditions was theoretically simulated. A computer program was developed to analyze the system to predict the effect of both the trailer loading weight and the slope angle on the tractor stability, traction ability, and drawbar loading. The program was used to analyze a tractor-trailer system moving at uniform motion up and downhill. The results of this analysis showed that the tractor becomes unstable when towing a 3750 kg trailer uphill at 28° slope angle. Insufficient traction occurred at slope angles ranging from 15° to 18° corresponding to trailer weight of 3750 to 750 kg. The parallel component of drawbar pull reached a maximum value of 17318 N when... |
