| Forskare vid SLU har under det senaste året visat att markbakterien Bacillus polymyxa kan skydda växter mot växtpatogenen Erwinia samt förbättra växtens motståndskraft mot torka. I detta nya forskningsprojekt är syftet att undersöka på vilket sätt bakterien åstadkommer dessa effekter. Framför allt undersöks förändringar i växtens genuttryck. Markbakterier kommunicerar med varandra genom signalsubstanser, som också kan påverka växters tillväxt. Forskarna ska även undersöka dessa substanser för att kunna renframställa tillväxtbefrämjande ämnen. Projektet finansieras av spannmåls- och oljeväxtproducenter via Stiftelsen Lantbruksforskning. |

| In the leaf-decompositon-trials to reduce the ascospore potential of Venturia inaequalis (2003/2004 and 2004/2005) different agents were tested with regard to direct effects on scab and to increasing the attractivity of the leaves for earthworms. TSB (lab medium with soya extracts) had a heavy direct effect on ascospore potential, but in this formulation it cannot be used in organic fruit-growing. Humofix and Bactofil B didn´t re-duce the potential as strongly as in the trial 2002/2003. A yeast extract and a combination of bean extract with powdered milk increased the attractivity for earthworms. In the trial 2004/2005 the reduction of the asco-spore potential was at best to 60 % of the control (powdered milk+Humofix), respecting the loss by earth-worms... |

| Ausgewählte Apfel- und Birnensorten des Streuobstanbaus wurden während der Jahre 2002 und 2003 auf ihre Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber dem Feuerbrand überprüft. Künstlich inokulierte Birnenbäume der Sorten Gelbmöstler, Grünmöstler, Oberösterreicher, Schweizer Wasserbirne und Wilde Eierbirne reagierten während der Jahre 2002 und 2003 hoch anfällig. Die Sorte Karcherbirne zeigte in beiden Jahren mittleren Befall, während sich die Sorte Metzer Bratbirne mit 2 Befallsstellen pro Baum als gering anfällig erwies. Die Birnensorten Oberösterreicher und Gelbmöstler zeigten sich unter natürlichen Befallsbedingungen anfällig, wobei Oberösterreicher in beiden Jahren stärker befallen wurde als Gelbmöstler. | The effect of 3 new natural fungicides to control Monilia (Monilia laxa) of sweet cherry as well as the effects of plastic cover during flowering period were tested in different trials on 4 organic farms in Switzerland during three years. Under low to medium disease pressure Serenade (Bacillus subtilis), Trilogy (Azadirachtin-free Neemoil) and lime sulphur reduced Monilia incidence by 30 to 60 % relative to control. With high disease pressure, however, non of these products had a relevant controlling effect. | Les travaux menés par le GRAB depuis plusieurs années ont permis de tester l’intérêt des tourteaux végétaux, de neem et de ricin, et celui des engrais verts nématicides (tagetes, crotalaires…) dans la lutte contre les nématodes à galles (Meloidogyne spp). Les résultats de ces techniques s’avèrent aléatoires selon les sites, et sont insuffisants pour lutter efficacement contre ce ravageur du sol, notamment dans les sites très infestés. | Sooty blotch is one 01 the most common diseases 01 apples in moist temperate growing regions. In 1920, Colby named the lungus that causes sooty blotch G/oeodes pomigena. G. pomigena was considered the sole cause 01 the disease until the 1990's when it was discovered that sooty blotch was a disease complex caused by several lungi. | In an attempt to control scab, a 12-year-old apple orchard was treated with suspensions of 5 g/l hydrated lime (Ca(OH)2) using overhead irrigation for 15 min. No other fungicides were used. In treatment A, irrigation was started when infection according to Mills had taken place. In treatments B and C, treatment was delayed by 6 h and 20 h, respectively. Irrigation was initiated when the scab warning system signaled even very low infection risk, and a total of 62 treatments were applied. | The efficacy of Quassia extract with a standardized content of Quassin was proved in various field trials in different regions during three years. The amount of Quassin of 6 g/ha/m tree height will be recommended to practice. It is not important to have a contact effect on the eggs. The larvae must feed on the product before they enter the fruit. There is a very good efficacy on primaray infestation. Furthermore, there is even an efficacy on secondary infestation. Thus, even if due to difficult conditions during application or not optimal termination of the treatment the efficacy on the primary infestation is not entirely sufficient, the secondary infestation will be controlled better. |
