Our fragmentary knowledge concerning the Cyprian Helicellinae is revised and summarized, while new data are added. "Helicella (Xerotricha) conspurcata distinguenda" Haas, 1936, is a Helicopsis species that has to be called H. cypriola (Westerlund, 1889) as a consequence of the selection of a neotype for Westerlund's poorly described nominal taxon. "Helicella (Xerotricha) conspurcata arrouxi" sensu Haas, 1934 (not Bourguignat, 1863) is described as Helicella juglans spec. nov. This species stands apart among the Helicellinae by the lack of a separate penis. Neither material nor reliable records of Xerotricha conspurcata (Draparnaud, 1801) could be traced; only X. apicina (Lamarck, 1822) is known from Cyprus. The wide-spread "arrouxi" has also been found on... |

One new species of the genus Pseudorhinoplus Fischer, 1972, and one of the genus Zelomorpha Ashmead, 1900 from Japan are described and illustrated. The generic limits of both genera are discussed. The genus Ahngeria Kokujev, 1902 is a new junior synonym of Coccygidium Saussure, 1892, and the subgenus Fopius Wharton, 1987 is given generic rank. New combinations are: Pseudorhinoplus taiwanicus (Fischer, 1975), Diachasmimorpha mellea (Gahan, 1915), D. longicaudata (Ashmead, 1905), D. aino (Watanabe, 1938), D. paeoniae (Tobias, 1980), D. tryoni (Cameron, 1911), and Coccygidium transcaspicum (Kokujev, 1902). |

Two new species of the genus Homolobus Foerster, 1862, one from Lombok, Java, the other from New Guinea, are described. The genus Westwoodiella Szépligeti, 1904, is redescribed and illustrated; the new tribe Westwoodiellini is created to include it in the subfamily Homolobinae. Rogas pectoralis Herrich-Schäffer, 1838 is synonymized with Homolobus discolor (Wesmael, 1835) syn. nov., and R. simplex Herrich-Schäffer, 1838 with Homolobus annulicornis (Nees, 1834) syn. nov. Homolobus simplex (Watanabe, 1932) nee Herrich-Schäffer, 1838 is renamed as H. watanabei nom. nov. |

A revision of the species of Phaeochroops Candèze is given. The species recognized before this study are redescribed and seven new species are defined, viz., P. colopacilis (Vietnam), freenae (Malaya), seres (Vietnam), ninbin (Vietnam), lakhonicus (Thailand), longisetosus (India) and vulturius (Sumatra). For nine species lectotypes are designated, viz., P. gigas Arrow, punctulatus Arrow, indicus Arrow, opacicollis Arrow, rattus Arrow, batuensis Arrow, mentaweiensis Arrow, niasianus Arrow, vulpecula Arrow. Five forms are considered synonyms, viz., P. niasianus Arrow, batuensis Arrow and mentaweiensis Arrow are synonyms of rattus Arrow (P. mentaweiensis already synonymized by Arrow, 1942) ; recticollis Pic is a synonym of silphoides Fairmaire ; punctulatus... |

This paper presents a summary of the current knowledge on the systematics of the Greek taxa of Chorthippus, morphologically characterised by angled lateral pronotal keels (usually grouped as Glyptobothrus). Prior to this paper, based on traditional morphology, ten taxa of Chorthippus with angled lateral pronotal keels were recognized from Greece. Based on morphology as well as (and more importantly so) bioacoustics thirteen Greek taxa are now recognised. With addition of a few additional related taxa that occur only outside Greece, all are treated in this paper: Chorthippus apricarius apricarius (Linnaeus, 1758), C. vagans vagans (Eversmann, 1848) (not in Greece), C. v. cypriotus (Uvarov, 1936) stat. nov. [Cyprus], C. v. africanus Nadig, 1981 [N. Africa],... |

Abstract A systematic review of the Neotropical Lauxaniidae genus Neopachycerina Malloch, 1933 is presented. The genus is characterized mainly based on some features of the head, like the anterior pair of fronto-orbital setae conspicuously shorter than posterior one and rather close to them; face with a distinct elevation between antennal bases; antenna slightly elongate, first flagellomere tapered to tip and about three times as long as its basal width, arista thickened by dense black short hairs both above and below, with some longer outstanding hairs on upper side basally. Although some authors have grouped it with some other genera based on chaetotaxy of the head, it was considered closer to Parapachycerina Stuckenberg. Other authors, on the other... |

Four additional species are included in the genus Hemistephanus: H. villosus (Kieffer) comb. n. and H. colombiensis (Ceballos) comb. n., transferred from Megischus and redescribed, and H. costaricensis sp. n. and H. stenogulatus sp. n., described as new; H. artiosulcatus Aguiar is proposed as a junior synonym of H. villosus Kieffer. The males of H. arctatus, H. colombiensis, H. submaculatus, and H. villosus are described for the first time. Much new or additional morphometric data is incorporated and discussed for these species and for H. carinatus, H. erugatus, H. erythrocephalus, H. limpidipennis, H. orfilanus, H. ruficeps, and H. velutinus. New geographical records are presented for all mentioned species and for H. cylindricus. Errata for publications... |
