ANÁLISIS DE SENSIBILIDAD DE LA PRODUCCIÓN DE CAÑA DE AZÚCAR CON DOS TECNOLOGÍAS DE RIEGO (GOTEO Y GRAVEDAD) EN ZAPOTILTIC, JALISCO (PARTE 2) AgEcon
Torres Sanchez, Guadalupe; Prado Vazquez, Victor Hugo; Rivera Espinoza, Ma. Patricia.
The objective is to make the investment sensibility analysis in drop irrigation by gravity in sugar cane production, there are three variables involved into the sensibility analysis for both of the irrigation systems: Cane production by hectare (it was sensibilized to low prices), sell price for sugar cane ton (it was sensibilized to low prices), and variations in the production's direct costs (sensibilized to high prices). The Novelo's methodology for sensibility analysis (1944) was used. The three variables involved into the sensibility analysis showed differences to support the outcome results got with the irrigation drop system over the irrigation gravity system by drop.

C&T e I para a produção agropecuária brasileira: mensurando e qualificando gastos públicos AgEcon
Batalha, Mario Otavio; Chaves, Gisele de Lorena Diniz; Souza Filho, Hildo Meirelles de.
Few researches in Brazil have undertaken the issue of quantification and qualification of public expenditure in S&T and Innovation devoted to agriculture and livestock. This paper presents an innovative evaluation and provides inedited information for public and private decision makers. Expenditure undertook by 48 Brazilian research organizations was evaluated. This set of organizations comprised the universe of federal and state institutes and agencies, as well as some other non-profit organizations, which gave support to research in agriculture and livestock. The results showed that the role played by Embrapa is of primary importance to the National System of Agricultural Research. Some deficiencies and barriers to scientific and technological...

Optimal Agricultural Policy with Biotechnology: Bovine Somatotropin and the Dairy Sector AgEcon
Tauer, Loren W.; Kaiser, Harry M..
A control model of the U.S. dairy sector was constructed to determine optimal policy when bovine somatotropin is released. Social welfare defined as consumer plus producer surplus minus adjustment and net government costs was maximized. Control variables were the milk support price and government purchases of cows. Compared to previous simulation research where government policy and adoption were modeled exogenously, the results show that policy not overly disruptive to the dairy sector is possible.

Agronomic performance of transgenic soybean cultivars in Brazilian Cerrado Agronomy
Costa, RafaeL Felix; Silva, Alessandro Guerra da; Simon, Gustavo André; Ribeiro Bessa, Osmaria; Dias, Milene Oliveira.
The productive capacity of soybeans is associated with the adaptation of the culture to the cultivation environment. Factors such as a high number of pods, the weight of a thousand grains, and grain number are essential factors in determining cultivars of high productive potential. The launching of new varieties associated with new technologies makes it necessary to know the performance of these varieties in different growing environments. This study aimed to analyze the agronomic performance of transgenic soybean cultivars under Cerrado conditions. The experimental design used completely randomized blocks; six of the twelve cultivars used RR1 technology and the remaining six used RR2BT. The cultivars were grown in five distinct locations in the southwest...
