Optimierte Anwendung von Pflanzenschutzmitteln zur Regulierung des Kartoffelkäfers (Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say) im Ökologischen Landbau Organic Eprints

The Colorado Potato Beetle is one of the most important pests of potatoes. The effect of various plant protection products based on neem (NeemAzal-T/S), pyrethrum/rape oil (Spruzit Neu) and Bacillus thuringiensis - B.t.t. (Novodor FC) against this pest has been compared in a field experiment from 2004 until 2006. The combined application of neem and B.t.t.-product have reduced the number of Colorado Potato Beetle larvae as well as the losses of plant material by feed of the beetle larvae significantly. In three years of field experiments the application of pyrethrum/rape oil has shown no significant effect to reduce the number of Colorado Potato Beetles.

Since 1989-90, Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) has been classified as the most harmful insect for table grapes after Lobesia botrana ( Den et Schiff.)Cultivar “Italia”, the most economically-relevant table grapes variety in Apulia, is susceptible to Frankliniella occidentalis which induces typical halo spots symptoms. In organic potato production Rhizoctonia solani leads to yield losses and quality deficiency with grave consequences for the saleability. To minimize these disease effects it is necessary to set up a cluster of different cultivation steps. Up to now the application of plant strengthening products shows inconsistent results. In our field trials we found slight yield increases, but especially an improvement of product quality.

Objetivou-se avaliar a produtividade de cálices de Hibiscus sabdariffa L., planta medicinal, em quatro épocas de plantio em Lavras M.G. Os tratamentos foram quatro épocas de plantio (18 de outubro; 15 de novembro; 18 de dezembro de 2001 e 15 de janeiro de 2002) e realizada uma colheita quando praticamente não existiam cálices em desenvolvimento, quase no final do ciclo da planta. Foram considerados os números de cálices por planta, as fitomassas frescas e secas dos cálices e a qualidade. Concluiu-se que a época de plantio influenciou o rendimento por planta e as fitomassas frescas e secas dos cálices, diferindo entre si pelo teste de Tukey a 5%. In this study, the impact of grazing in comparison to cutting on yield and forage feeding value at permanent grassland swards was investigated. A six-year trial (2007- 2012) was established at the Institute of Organic Farming of AREC Raumberg- Gumpenstein to test four types of permanent grassland uses (1: annual change between cutting and grazing; 2: four times cutting year-1; 3: cut of the first growth following grazing; 4: grazing). There were found no significant differences in the DM yield between the four variants. The significant highest crude protein yield (over 1,843 kg ha-1) was found in the grazing system. Management of strawberry blossom weevil and European tarnished plant bug in organic strawberry and raspberry using semiochemical traps Organic Eprints
In the absence of effective control measures, the strawberry blossom weevil (Anthonomus rubi), the European tarnished plant bug (Lygus rugulipennis) and the raspberry beetle (Byturus tomentosus) cause large (10 - >80%) losses in yield and quality in organically grown strawberry (A. rubi and L .rugulipennis) and raspberry (A. rubi and B. tomentosus). In this project the natural semiochemical mechanisms of sexual attraction and host plant finding of these key pests will be exploited to develop effective semiochemical traps for their management through mass trapping.
