The selection of eri silkworm ecorace with high yield and distinct in morphological character is necessary for variety improvement. Five eri silkworm ecoraces, SaKKU1, SaKKU2, SaKKU3, SaKKU4 and SaKKU5 were surveyed and derived in country or from academic cooperation in international level. All ecoraces were cultured using castor leaves of TCO101 variety as food plant at 25±2 °C, 80±5%R.H. Based on morphological characters, there were similar except body of the 5th instar larva of SaKKU1 was covered with white powder and ripe larva showing shiny dominant yellow color. Life cycles were also similar durations, 46-53 days (SaKKU1), 42-53 days (SaKKU2), 42-52 days (SaKKU3), 40-56 days (SaKKU4) and 41-52 days (SaKKU5). SaKKU1 had highest survival rate at larval... |

Light intensity is an important factor affected rice growth and productivity. A comparative study on the effects of light intensity were investigated in three cultivars of black glutinous rice No.19, 27 and 51. Seeds were hydroponically grown for 30 days then divided into 3 groups: grow under natural light condition (300 Klux) and under low light condition 2 levels (3 and 1 Klux) using shaded net. The effect of light intensity on four growth-stages including; seedling, tillering, heading and maturity was observed. The results showed that the low light intensity caused decrease fresh weight, dry weight and anthocyanin contents in all cultivars. Moreover, the heading stage had higher anthocyanin content than other stages. The No. 51 had the highest level of... |

Optimization conditions for Japanese green tea snack production were investigated using response surface methodology. A central composite design with four independent variables: screw speed (116, 150, 200, 250 and 284 rpm); feed rate (28.8, 32.0, 38.3, 44.7 and 47.9 g/min); moisture content (13.0, 14.0, 16.0, 18.0 and 19.0 %) and vegetables or herbs content (0.0, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0 and 6.4 %) was use to study the response variables such as expansion ratio, bulk density, hardness, crispness, antioxidant activity, total phenolic and resistant starch content. A second-degree equation for independent and response variables was computed and used to create the contour and surface plot graphs. The screw speed at 196 rpm, feed rate of 44.7 g/min, moisture... |
