Effect of gibberellic acid and the biostimulant stimulate® on the initial growth of tamarind Rev. Bras. Frutic.
Dantas,Ana Cristina Vello Loyola; Queiroz,João Mariano de Oliveira; Vieira,Elvis Lima; Almeida,Vanessa de Oliveira.
Plant growth regulators and biostimulants have been used as an agronomic technique to optimize the production of seedlings in various crops. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of gibberellic acid and the biostimulant Stimulate® on the initial growth of tamarind (Tamarindus indica L.). The experiments were conducted in a nursery with 50% shading, in a randomized block design with five replications and five plants per plot. Thirty eight days after sowing, the leaves were sprayed seven times a day with 0.0 (control), 0.8, 1.6, 2.4 and 3.2 mL of gibberellic acid L-1 aqueous solution and with 0.0 (control), 6.0,12.0, 18.0, and 24.0 mL Stimulate® L-1 aqueous solution. Stem diameter (SD), plant height (PH), longest root length (LRL), shoot dry mass (SDM),...

Correlations and track analysis for morphoagronomic descriptors in pedigree and parental lines of castor bean Ciência Rural
Silva,Adielle Rodrigues da; Silva,Simone Alves; Almeida,Vanessa de Oliveira; Araújo,Gilmara de Melo; Ledo,Carlos Alberto da Silva.
ABSTRACT: As castor bean (Ricinus communis L.) reveals immense adaptability to various ecological conditions and due to its socioeconomic significance, new studies have emerged primarily to develop more productive cultivars to suit different regions in Brazil. This study aimed to confirmthe correlations and direct and indirect effects of the morphoagronomic descriptors on castor bean productivity, employing correlation studies and track analysis. Between 2014 and 2015, experiments utilizing the randomized block design were performed, with four replications, which included 208 treatments involving pedigree and parental lines of castor bean, drawn from the germplasm bank of the Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia. Variables in the correlation analysis...

Genetic parameters in agronomic characters for selection of superior lineages of Ricinus communis L Ciência Rural
Santos,Laurenice Araujo dos; Silva,Simone Alves; Souza,Deoclides Ricardo de; Araujo,Gilmara de Melo; Almeida,Vanessa de Oliveira; Neves,Cláudia Garcia.
ABSTRACT: Knowledge on the variability and heritability of agronomic characters of interest aid the selection of superior materials. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the genetic parameters of agronomic traits in castor bean plant lineages and to quantify the genetic correlations between them. The study was performed in the experimental area of the Federal University of the Recôncavo da Bahia, Cruz das Almas, Bahia. Seed oil content, vegetative cycle, plant height, and the number and weight of seeds per plant were evaluated in 47 lineages of castor bean seedlings. The coefficient of genetic variation was higher for weight of seeds per plant, revealing greater variability. The broad-sense heritability of individual plots presented a higher...
