Production of cuttings and nutrient export by Coffea canéfora in different periods in the Southwestern Amazon AGRIAMBI
Bazoni,Patrícia A.; Espindula,Marcelo C.; Araújo,Larissa F. B. de; Vasconcelos,Jaqueline M.; Campanharo,Marcela.
ABSTRACT Cutting is the main vegetative propagation method used for the production of Coffea canephora plantlets. In this method, parent plants are conducted in a specific field, called clonal garden, which must be managed to produce clonal cuttings. The objective of this study was to evaluate the production of cuttings and the export of nutrients by Coffea canephora in different periods in the Southwestern Amazon. The experiment was carried out in a 6 × 3 split-plot scheme (repeated measures in time), consisting of the combination of six clonal Coffea canephora genotypes (plot) and three cutting collection periods (subplots). The genotypes were: C-057, C-088, C-089, C-125, C-130 and C-160; and the evaluation sampling times were January/2017, May/2017 and...

Toxicity symptoms of nickel in common bean Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Campanharo,Marcela; Monnerat,Pedro Henrique; Espindula,Marcelo Curitiba; Rabello,Wanderson Souza; Ribeiro,Guilherme.
Despite the importance of nickel (Ni) in the N metabolism of legumes, common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is considered very sensitive to Ni doses. The objective in this study was to characterize the toxicity symptoms of Ni in common bean cv. Pérola. The experiment was conducted in greenhouse in the campus of the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense - Darcy Ribeiro, Campos dos Goytacazes - RJ. Solutions containing 0; 20; 40; 60 and 100 mg L-1 of Ni, in the form of nickel chloride hexahydrate (NiCl2.6H2O), were applied to shoots of common bean plants at the rate of 2.5 mL of solution per plant of common bean, 25 days after sowing. Plants of common bean treated with 0; 20; 40 and 60 mg L-1 of Ni showed no toxicity symptoms. Plants treated with 100 mg...

Growth and physiological quality in clonal seedlings of Robusta coffee Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Giuriatto Júnior,Jurandyr José Ton; Espindula,Marcelo Curitiba; Araújo,Larissa Fatarelli Bento de; Vasconcelos,Jaqueline Martins; Campanharo,Marcela.
ABSTRACT The intrinsic characteristics of the vegetative propagule may influence the rooting speed and shoot growth, as well as the final physiological quality of clonal seedlings of Coffea canephora. The aim of this study was to evaluate the growth and physiological quality of ‘Robusta’ coffee seedlings produced from propagules (stem cuttings) with different cutting ages. The study was conducted in a greenhouse, in the district of Ouro Preto do Oeste, in Rondônia, Brazil (10˚45’43” S and 62˚15’10” W). The ages of the cuttings were 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 days, corresponding to five positions on the secondary orthotropic stem (sprout), from the apex to the base. Dry matter accumulation, and relative and absolute growth rates were evaluated for 188 days...

Yield and nitrogen recovery of wheat plants subjected to urea application with or without a urease inhibitor in the absence of irrigation Ciencia e Investigación Agraria
Espindula,Marcelo C; Campanharo,Marcela; Dias,Jairo R. M; Rocha,Valterley S; Souza,Moacil A. de; Menoncin,Giovana.
The use of urease inhibitors and irrigation are management options to increasing the efficiency of top-dressed urea by reducing NH3 volatilization. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the productive performance and N recovery of 'BRS 254' wheat plants without irrigation after applying urea or urea+NBPT [N-(n-butyl)thiophosphoric triamide] as the top dressing. The experiment was carried out in Viçosa, MG, Brazil, between May and September of 2008 using a complete randomized block design with a 2×6+1 factorial arrangement of the following treatments: 1) urea or urea+NBPT, 2) six periods without irrigation (0, 48, 96, 144, 192 or 240 h after applying the top-dressing fertilizer), and 3) a control without N; there were four replications. The data were...

Rates of nitrogen and growth retardant trinexapac-ethyl on wheat Ciência Rural
Espindula,Marcelo Curitiba; Rocha,Valterley Soares; Souza,Leandro Torres de; Souza,Moacil Alves de; Campanharo,Marcela; Grossi,José Antônio Saraiva.
The objective in this study was to evaluate the effects of nitrogen rates in association with rates of the growth retardant trinexapac-ethyl on wheat. The experiment was conducted in Viçosa, MG and arranged in a 5×4 factorial, randomized block design, with four repetitions. A combination of five nitrogen rates (30, 60, 90, 120 and 150kg ha-1) with four rates of trinexapac-ethyl (0, 62.5, 125 and 187.5g ha-1) were tested. Trinexapac-ethyl promotes reduction of soot dry mass and grain yield at the lowest N rates, but at the highest N rates there is increase in these characteristics. The combination between N and trinexapac-ethyl rates that promotes higher shoot dry mass is 150kg ha-1 and 187g ha-1 but that promotes higher grain yield is 100kg ha-1 and 120g...
