The study aimed to estimate parameters, values and genetic gain for growth traits in progenies of Eucalyptus camaldulensis, in the State of Mato Grosso. The progenies test was conducted under a randomized block design with 132 progenies, five replications and three plants in single rows, spaced 3 m x 2 m in Santo Antonio do Leverger, MT. At 24 months of age, progenies were evaluated for the characters: a) diameter at base height (DBH), in centimeters, b) total height, in meters, c) survival. The individual in the narrow sense heritability for the traits studied can be considered medium to high magnitude (0.13 and 0.21) for height and diameter, respectively. The heritability for survival were practically nil, due to low genetic variability among the... |

The aim of this study was to compare, through simulation, the BLUP and BLUP-HET procedures for breeding values prediction under heterogeneity of residual variances. Random data were generated with spread sheet, considering a variance of 0,10 and variable residual variance, by number of clones, in order toprovide heterogeneity of variances. Actual and residual breeding values obtained were added to the mean 10, in order to obtain positive phenotypic values. Experimental design was random blocks with 100 genotypes, one plant per plot and 2, 5, 10 and 20 repetitions. Data were evaluated using Selegen software, obtaining estimated breeding values through BLUP and BLUP-HET procedures which were compared to actualbreeding values. In this study, using two and... |

Goal was to estimate genetic variability, genetic parameters and gains, as well as germination rateon teca parent trees. Seeds were collected from Cachoeiro de Itapemirim (ES) county. The trial was carriedout in the Espírito Santo Federal University. Experimental design was randomized blocks with 60 treatments,5 repetitions each and 19 plants per plot. Demonstrated genetic variability, individual heritability and parenttrees mean suggest great likelihood of genetic gain at more advanced ages. The 41, 11, 43 and 37 parent treespresented larger genetic gains associated with increase on rate and germination percentages. |
