The knowledge-based, competitive economy places a great emphasis on the education system. The responsibility of higher education is to impart knowledge of high standard which is in harmony with the continuously changing environment. Higher education has a special role in the knowledge-based economy since it does not only have to fulfill educational but also research an innovation tasks. The decrease in the traditional role of agriculture as well as international tendencies facilitate diversification, i.e. the emergence of new roles and the relevant activities. Dilemmas in Hungarian higher education AgEcon
Herneczky, Andrea; Marselek, Sandor.
Higher rates of employment are essential to economic growth. The best way to increase the rate of employment is through training and education. Transforming education to mass education, as well as the weakening of the previous knowledge of students has caused a quality decay among job-seekers. The motivation behind education is not sound; the number of majors in higher education is higher than necessary and is not adjusted to the requirements of the labour market. Hands-on training has been forced into the background. Career offices at large colleges and universities may improve the entrants’ chances of finding a job. Higher education institutions are also responsible for the continuous further training of their graduate students with BSc degrees, which...

A vidék fejlesztésének stratégiája AgEcon
Marselek, Sandor; Takacs-Gyorgy, Katalin.
Ennek a folyamatnak a megállításához új irányok meghatározása aszükséges. A cikk az új fejlesztési irányok meghatározására tesz kísérletet. --------------------------------------------- Hungary can be sxuccesssfull only if the rural areas are viable. A felsőoktatás és az agrároktatás dilemmái AgEcon
Magda, Sandor; Herneczky, Andrea; Marselek, Sandor.
A képzés túl sok szakon folyik. Új módszerek, a gyakorlati képzés előtérbe helyezése, megfelelő motivációs rendszer segíthet a kialakult helyzeten.

Nemzeti kincsünk a vidék! AgEcon
Magda, Sandor; Marselek, Sandor.
Társadalmunk gazdasági fejlődése a természeti erőforrások használatára épül. A Kormány a Nemzeti Földalap létrehozásával gátat kíván szabni a földspekulációnak. Vidéken a föld racionális használata megkerülhetetlen.

The growing of vegetables, one of the strategic possibility of the Hungarian agricultural improvement AgEcon
Bene, Csaba; Marselek, Sandor.
The development of market-gardening can be one of the hopeful possibilities of the agriculture; the function is still competitive but its competitiveness is decreasing. It is national, consumer and economic interest to improve the sector as the unemployment in the countryside can also be reduced. During the producing we must attach the importance to the quality as in the EU only that farmer can suit the requirements who can usually deliver reliable quality product. The sector is deficient in funds, so the technical, innovative and logistic improvement hung behind the requests. This fact has to be changed. Our advantageous conditions open the door to increase production output and to use the logistic possibilities thanked to our geographical location. An...

The possibilities of rural development and the potential role of hunting tourism in rural development AgEcon
Marselek, Sandor; Fabian, Gyula.
Rural development is of great significance for the future of both the EU and Hungary. We must reduce migration, create new jobs and focus on sustainability and the principles and goals of environmental protection and nature conservation. For this reason, it is necessary to apply for EU project funding. EU priorities regarding rural development serve the creation of a ‘liveable countryside’. Rural development is connected to tourism that can help compensate for decreasing income from agriculture. Services related to hunting could achieve a significant role in the development of tourism as they can be harmonised with rural development and with rural and ecotourism. Hunting tourism and game management can be connected to several rural development goals, so it...
