Soil cover management: initial development of pear trees hosui cultivar and its effects on soil and weeds 94
Delonzek,Edina Costa; Botelho,Renato Vasconcelos; Muller,Marcelo Marques Lopes; Maciel,Cleber Daniel de Goes; Maia,Aline José.
Abstract Soil management is a practice that influences the development of fruit trees. In this sense, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different soil cover/mulching types on weed control and on the early development of pear trees Hosui cultvar. The experiment was conducted in two consecutive cycles: 2015/2016 and 2016/2017. Treatments consisted of the following soil covers in pear tree planting rows: natural cover, ryegrass straw intercropped with millet, pine sawdust, shading cover (70%), rice husk, Curauá fiber and weeding. Soil infestation by weeds was evaluated in the spring-summer period for two years, as well as the vegetative pear tree development (plant height and diameter and SPAD chlorophyll index). Managements using...

Morphological alterations of corn (Zea mays L.) plants in response to aluminum toxicity in the soil 52
Souza,José Roberto Pinto de; Guimarães,Maria Fátima de; Muller,Marcelo Marques Lopes; Santos,Carlos Henrique dos.
The objective of the experiment was to identify the morphological alterations in corn genotypes in response to aluminum toxicity in the soil. A complete randomized block design with five replications was used. The a factorial scheme was composed of two corn genotypes (C525M - tolerant, and HS701B - sensitive) and two neutralization levels (0% and 100% of aluminum saturation). The evaluations were performed at six leaf and 10-11 leaf growth stages, emergence of the "stigma-style", and the physiological maturity. The presence of toxic aluminum didn’t significantly reduce diameter and height of stem, leaf area, dry matter of aerial parts, total dry matter and yield. Stem diameter, leaf area, dry matter of root, dry matter of aerial parts, total dry matter and...

Nutrition, yield and nutrient export in common bean under zinc fertilization in no-till system 64
Kachinski,Wagner Deckij; Ávila,Fabrício William; Muller,Marcelo Marques Lopes; Reis,André Rodrigues dos; Rampim,Leandro; Vidigal,Julio Cezar Borecki.
ABSTRACT Zinc (Zn) is one of the most deficient plant micronutrients in agricultural crops. The objective of this study was to evaluate plant nutrition, grain yield and nutrient export rate in response to soil and foliar Zn fertilization in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Two field experiments in no-till system were carried out using two common bean cultivars, BRS Esteio (black bean) and IPR Campos Gerais (Carioca bean). Treatments were composed of soil Zn application during sowing and foliar Zn spray at flowering stage. Soil Zn application had effect on leaf Zn concentration in IPR Campos Gerais and did not affect grain yield of both cultivars. Foliar Zn spray increased leaf Zn concentration by approximately two times in both cultivars, but...
