This research was conducted to investigate performance of using RADARSAT-1 SAR (standard mode)to map areas of the in-season rice cropping in the northeast region, in each particular year. Three sets of the radar data acquired on different dates, i.e., 4th July, 14th September, and 25th October 2006, were used. The MaximumLikelihood classifier was applied to classify these data based on 2 classification schemes. The scheme #1 included4 classes.
