| Laboratory experiments have been conducted in order to examine the grouth of ULVA SP. Results show that growth suddenly stops at a precise moment. Collectively, the results of simultaneously analysis of culture media constituents demonstrate that several components may alter the growth process of UIva sp. Based on the culture experiments, we argue that the gowth responses of UIva sp. are unaffected by pH or oxygen concentrations, but field plants of ULVA sp. are libely to be ponctually limited in growth by carbon (DIC) depletion, together with nitrogen limitation and pigments degradation. |

| L'estuaire de la Penzé (nord-Finistère, France) est le siège de plusieurs dysfonctionnements de type biologique (eutrophisation et contaminations bactériennes) qui nécessitent une bonne connaissance et un suivi des apports d'origine terrigène susceptibles d'influencer ou de provoquer ces phénomènes. Une étude sur ce secteur test a permis la mise au point d'une méthodologie de suivi des apports à l'estuaire. Celle-ci se fait en quatre étapes: 1. | Short lived algal species with an important biomass are the one thing most susceptible to disturb the good functioning of the pump houses of the Flamanville thermo-nuclear plant. In the biological cycle of Fugacious, Laminarials, Cystoseiraceae, Rhodymemials and, among Sargassaceae, Sargassum muticum, autumn is the season when algae are the weakest after their periods of maximal growth and reproduction. A high percentage of these algae is therefore likely to be released in the marine environment. |

| The coastal marsh of Kervigen is located near by the bay of Douarnenez and its 22 hectares are almost entirely covered bV reeds. An experiment was there carried out to assess the nitrogen flux depletion of a sma/l stream, the Kerharo. The last one has a 45 I<m2, mostlv agricultural, drainage basin. Due to its nitrate loadings to the nexl sandy beach, it feeds a green algae (U iva) proliferation. In order to control its nitrogen fluxes, the stream was partly divelted through a part of the marsh (9 ha), before it was allowed ta go back to the main bed. | L'ostréiculture en baie de Morlaix demeure une activité emblématique du territoire qui contribue à sa notoriété ainsi qu'à son attractivité. Cette activité du secteur primaire, qui emploie 107 peronnes en Equivalent Temps Plein (ETP), produit annuellement environ 7000 tonnes d'huîtres creuses et environ 90 tonnes d'huîtres plates ce qui représentent indéniablement un poids socio-économique significatif à l'échelon local. Dans la perspective de faire évoluer les limites des zones conchylicoles existantes sur l'estuaire de la Penzé, les professionnels ont sollicité l'élaboration d'une étude de zone pour en déterminer l'opportunité. | In order to identify the origin of the fecal contamination observed in French estuaries, two library-independent microbial source tracking (MST) methods were selected: (i) Bacteroidales host-specific 16S rRNA gene markers and (ii) F-specific RNA bacteriophage genotyping. The specificity of the Bacteroidales markers was evaluated on human and animal (bovine, pig, sheep, and bird) feces. Two human-specific markers (HF183 and HF134), one ruminant-specific marker (CF193'), and one pig-specific marker (PF163) showed a high level of specificity (>90%). | The gulf of Morbihan, without manifesting any pronounced signs of eutrophication, has, in 1995, three sites of green algae proliferation: the Auray river estuary, the branches of the Vannes and Séné estuary, as well as the outlet of the Noyalo's estuary. They are also the three sectors of the gulf that receive the most nutrient salts, in particular, nitrogen, which is a determining factor in the development of nitrophilic green algae (Ménesguen and Piriou 1995). During spring the nitrogen seems to come as much from urban sources (Vannes, Auray) as from agricultural sources coming from the northern catchment areas of the gulf. |

Ils produisent des gênes au point de vue accaparement de l'espace ainsi que des mauvaises odeurs après dégradation.
