Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Martins,Elias Nunes; Lopes,Paulo Sávio; Silva,Fabyano Fonseca e.

Zootec.
Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Martins,Elias Nunes.

Bayesian analysis for comparison of nonlinear regression model parameters: an application to ruminal degradability data R. Bras. Zootec.
Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Martins,Elias Nunes; Guedes,Terezinha Aparecida; Jobim,Clóves Cabreira.
This paper shows the Bayesian approach as an alternative to the classical analysis of nonlinear models for ruminal degradation data. The data set was obtained from a Latin square experimental design, established for testing the ruminal degradation of dry matter, crude protein and fiber in neutral detergent of three silages: elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schum) with bacterial inoculant or enzyme-bacterial inoculant and corn silage (Zea mays L.). The incubation times were 0, 2, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. The parameter estimates of the equations fitted by both methods showed small differences, but by the Bayesian approach it was possible to compare the estimates correctly, that does not happen with the frequentist methodology because it is much...

Effect of soybean hulls on lactation curves and the composition of goat milk R. Bras. Zootec.
Zambom,Maximiliane Alavarse; Alcalde,Claudete Regina; Gomes,Ludmila Couto; Ramos,Carlos Eduardo Crispim de Oliveira; Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Kazama,Daniele Cristina da Silva.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the effects of soybean hulls (SBH) as a ground corn replacement (0, 50, and 100% SBH) on the parameters of the lactation curve and on lactation curves and milk composition. Fourteen multiparous Saanen goats were used during their lactation period, from kidding until the drying of their milk on the 228th day of lactation, and were distributed in a completely randomised design. The data was analysed using Bayesian methodology to minimise the effect of the low number of animals and to allow for comparison of the curve parameters estimated by Wood's nonlinear model. The SBH had no effect on the initial milk yield; nevertheless, the SBH reduced the rate of yield until lactation peak and accelerated the declining rate of...

Bueno,Antonio Vinicius Iank; Jobim,Clóves Cabreira; Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Gritti,Viviane Carnaval; Leão,Guilherme Fernando Mattos; Tres,Tamara Tais.
ABSTRACT We aimed to evaluate the effects of glyphosate as a chemical desiccant on the nutritional quality, fermentation pattern, and aerobic stability of wilted black oat (Avena strigosa Schreb) silage. Black oat sowing occurred in the first fortnight of May 2013. Desiccant application took place when oat reached milky/dough grain stage (96 days after planting). Glyphosate dosages evaluated were 0, 500, 750, 1000, and 1250 mL ha−1. Three days after desiccation, all treatments were ensiled, and the silos were kept stored for 150 days. A completely randomized design was used, and all statistical procedures were performed by means of Bayesian Inference. Treating herbage prior to ensiling from 500 mL ha−1 glyphosate increased dry matter and organic matter...

Effect of the addition of protected fat from palm oil to the diet of dairy sheep R. Bras. Zootec.
Bianchi,Anderson Elias; Macedo,Vicente de Paulo; Silva,Aleksandro Schafer Da; Silveira,André Luís Finkler da; Hill,João Ari Gualberto; Zortéa,Talyta; Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Batista,Rafael.
ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of protected fat from palm oil on body weight and milk production and composition of lactating Lacaune ewes. Four treatments (0, 20, 40, and 60 g kg−1 as fed) of protected fat from palm oil were used to feed nine animals in each group. Isoproteic and isoenergetic diets were formulated and adjusted for each animal after milk weighing. Corn silage was used as roughage on the same proportion of concentrated to feed all animals. Milk samples were collected weekly for chemical analyses up to the seventh week of the lactation period and every other week after that until the end of the lactation period (182 days). Increased levels of protected fat in the diet of lactating ewes resulted in lower body...

Zootec.
Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Martins,Elias Nunes.

Adjustment of four growth models through Bayesian inference on weight and body nutrient depositions in laying quail R. Bras. Zootec.
Finco,Eline Maria; Marcato,Simara Márcia; Furlan,Antonio Claudio; Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Grieser,Daiane de Oliveira; Zancanela,Vittor; Oliveira,Taciana Maria Moraes de; Stanquevis,Caroline Espejo.
ABSTRACT An experiment was conducted to estimate the parameters of the Gompertz, Brody, Logistic, and Von Bertalanffy equations through Bayesian inference and evaluate the potential for growth in terms of weight and body composition of laying female quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica). The weights and body compositions of the birds were obtained weekly (1-119 days), allowing the adjustment of the four equations by Bayesian inference. The parameters mature weight (β1), integration constant (β2), maturity rate (β3), and their credibility intervals in four models on body weight and body components were properly estimated by Bayesian inference to describe the body growth in laying quail. The inflection point was determined by the 1st and 2nd derivatives of the...

Using near infrared spectroscopy to predict metabolizable energy of corn for pigs Scientia Agricola
Ferreira,Silvia Letícia; Vasconcellos,Ricardo Souza; Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Paula,Vinicius Ricardo Cambito de; Fachinello,Marcelise Regina; Huepa,Laura Marcela Díaz; Pozza,Paulo Cesar.
ABSTRACT: The chemical composition of corn is variable and the knowledge of its chemical and energetic composition is required for an accurate formulation of the diet. This study aimed to determine the chemical composition, that is, dry matter (DM), mineral matter (MM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), ether extract (EE), crude protein (CP), gross energy (GE) and energetic values of different varieties (batches) of corn and validate mathematical models to predict the metabolizable energy values (ME) of corn for pigs using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). Corn samples were scanned in the spectrum range between 1,100 and 2,500 nm, the model parameters were estimated by the modified partial least squares (MPLS) method. Ten...

Performance and milk quality of cows fed triticale silage or intercropped with oats or legumes Scientia Agricola
Bumbieris Junior,Valter Harry; Emile,Jean-Claude; Jobim,Clóves Cabreira; Rossi,Robson Marcelo; Horst,Egon Henrique; Novak,Sandra.
ABSTRACT: The use of intercropped grass legumes provides a source of sustainable animal production as these vegetables contribute to an increase in forage yield by area, and substitute inorganic nitrogen and other components. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional characteristics of silages and the yield and milk quality of Holstein cows fed triticale silages in monoculture or intercropped with either oats or legumes. The crops for silage production were triticale (TS), triticale in consortium with forage pea (TSP), and triticale in consortium with oats, forage peas and vetches (TSOPV). The silages showed no differences in dry matter content. The highest crude protein (13.06 %) and ethereal extract content was observed in TSOPV, but in...
