O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar os padrões eletroforéticos das proteínas resistentes ao calor e a atividade da enzima endo-β-mananase durante a germinação de sementes de alface, em alta temperatura. Sementes de oito cultivares de alface foram submetidas aos testes de germinação, primeira contagem e emergência em duas temperaturas, 20 e 35ºC. Foram calculados o índice de velocidade de germinação (IVG) e o índice de velocidade de emergência (IVE). Avaliou-se, também, a expressão das proteínas resistentes ao calor e da enzima endo-β-mananase, para todos os tratamentos. Seed quality may be affected by several factors, including permeability, color, and lignin content in the seed coat. This study aimed at evaluating influence of lignin content in the tegument of seed samples of six different soybean cultivars, in which half of each sample was inoculated with the fungus Aspergillus flavus, on the physical and physiological quality, and on the seed health, during 180 days storage period, under cold chamber with controlled conditions of temperature and RH. Resumen El momento de cosecha se correlaciona con la calidad fisiológica de la semilla y puede definirse a través de la germinación y las pruebas de vigor. Los rayos X son una buena técnica para evaluar la calidad de la semilla, ya que pueden reducir la subjetividad del análisis, volviendo el proceso más rápido y más eficiente. Nuestro objetivo fue evaluar el área libre interna de la semilla de jiló (Solanum gilo), a través del análisis de la imagen de rayos X, y relacionar los resultados con la germinación de la semilla en distintas etapas de maduración. ABSTRACT Knowing genes related to water deficit is a valuable tool to assist and accelerate the selection process of maize genotypes more adapted to drought conditions. Therefore, this work aimed to evaluate genes expression related to tolerance to water deficit in maize lines, using proteomic and transcriptomic analyses. Two lines previously classified as tolerant (91-T) and non-tolerant (57-NT) to low water availability were used.
