This paper is a first approach of the study of the benthic bionomy of the central and oriental zones of the lagoon "des Bibans" (South Tunisia). The dominant species are classifed; their distribution seems strictly correlated with the hydrological and topographical characteristics of the ecosystem. The structure of the populations are placed in the classical divisions such as abundance, frequency, specific diversity. This study pointed out a large correlation between marine flow and depth. These factors influence the spatial evolution of the populations and show an original characteristic of the lagoon - the presence of atypical biocoenoses. |
