CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 is a short-growth duration rice variety which is suitable for growing in the rain-fed area. This rice variety derived from CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2, a product ofthe crossing of three cultivars; i.e. Suphanburi 1, IR64 and CNT86074-25-9-1(Suphanburi1/IR64//CNT86074-25-9-1), that still expressed its genetic diversity while it was growing in a breeder seeds production field. This leaded to the selection of the elite lines, CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 which had an early maturation and short growth duration so that it could be harvested shortly at about 92 days after sowing. CCS08054-KLG-9-1-1-2-1 is a short duration photoperiod insensitive rice, non-glutinous, and non-aromatic rice line derived from a cross between Chainat 1 and IR40. The single cross hybridization was made in 2008 at Bang Khen Rice Experiment Station (now Chachoengsao Rice Research. F2 to F5 progenies were selected at Klong Luang Rice Reseach Center during 2009-2011.The line CCS08054-KLG-9-1-1-2-1 has an erect and moderately strong culm; 115 cm height on transplanting; 99 days maturity on transplanting. The program on research and development of rainfed lowland rice in north eastern Thailand in collaboration with the National Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) have carried out the project to develop an early maturing, blast resistant, non-glutinous rice variety. The cross between IR57514-PMI-5-B-1-2 and RGDU99016-MAS-77 was developed and the progenies were backcrossed to IR57514-PMI-5-B-1-2 for 3 time at RGDU, BIOTEC. The selected promising line; RGDU06337-MAS-24-B-B, was finally obtained. This line is a non-glutinous, photoperiod sensitive, early maturing line which flowers approximately on October 8 and is ready for harvest on November 11. CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 was a short-growth duration rice variety which was suitable for irrigated area encountered flooding in raining season. This rice variety derived from three–way cross of Suphanburi 1 /IR64//CNT86074-25-9-1. CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 had maturity short growth duration so that it could be early harvested at about 87 days after sowing in wet season and 96 days in dry season. It had recorded yield potential of 1,004 kg/rai with the average yields of 681 kg/rai, which was comparable with the RD41 (742 kg/ rai), but 2% higher than that of RD43 (666 kg./rai). Plant stature of this variety was 80 cm. in height. Its grain was long slender shape, 10.54 mm. in length and 2.70 mm. in width, with straw colored paddy. Its 1,000 grains weight...
