Four new genera of soft corals (Coelenterata: Octocorallia), with notes on the classification of some established taxa Naturalis
Alderslade, P..
Four new genera, Rhytisma, Klyxum and Skamnarium (family Alcyoniidae) and Sansibia (family Xeniidae), are proposed to accommodate a number of species wrongly assigned to some established genera. A large number of the species concerned have been previously included in the genus Alcyonium, and remarks are made concerning the heterogenous nature of that genus. The reassignment of Parerythropodium hicksoni Utinomi, 1972, to Erythropodium, Alcyonium gracillimum Kükenthal, 1906, to Scleronephthya, and Clavularia hamra to Briareum is also discussed, and the existence of Funginus Tixier-Durivault, 1987, as a replacement name for Fungulus Tixier-Durivault, 1970, is highlighted.

Klyxum adii spec. nov. (Octocorallia: Alcyonacea) from Kenya Naturalis
Benayahu, Y.; Perkol-Finkel, S..
A new species of Klyxum from Kenya, K. adii, is described and depicted. Its unique features include an encrusting growth form, short lobes, which are knob-shaped or flattened-laterally low crests and large branched spindles, thus making it different from the previously described Klyxum species.

Sinularia mauritiana, a new species of soft coral (Coelenterata: Octocorallia) from Mauritius, Indian Ocean Naturalis
Vennam, J.; Parulekar, A.H..
Sinularia mauritiana, a new soft coral (family Alcyoniidae) from shallow subtidal waters off Mauritius (Western Indian ocean) is described. Extremely long clubs in the surface layer of the lobes, the presence of eight-radiates in the surface layer of the base, and the many spindles with simple tubercles in the interior of the lobes, separate it from previously described species.

A new genus and species of soft coral (Octocorallia: Alcyonacea: Alcyoniidae) from Lord Howe Island, Australia Naturalis
Alderslade, P..
Lohowia koosi, a new species and new genus in the family Alcyoniidae, is described from Lord Howe Island, Australia. The new taxon has dimorphic polyps and a similar morphology to some of the flat, lobe-less nominal species of Lobophytum. The new taxon is clearly distinguished, however, by the possession of large, heavily armed autozooids, polypary surface sclerites in the form of large spindles that protrude through the surface, extremely large interior sclerites and base surface sclerites in the form of rods, spindles and ovals.

Revision of the Genera Bellonella, Eleutherobia, Nidalia and Nidaliopsis (Octocorallia: Alcyoniidae and Nidalliidae), with descriptions of two new Genera Naturalis
Verseveldt, J.; Bayer, F.M..
Nineteen species of Alcyoniidae formerly assigned to various genera are here placed in the genera Bellonella and Eleutherobia; three new species are described in Bellonella. Sixteen species characterized by an abundance of capstans among their sclerites, formerly assigned to Alcyonium, Bellonella and Nidalia are now transferred as valid species or synonyms to the genus Eleutherobia, in which two new species are described making a total of 14 valid species. A new genus Inflatocalyx is established for a digitiform subantarctic species having only very few sclerites, in the form of nearly smooth spindles, and polyps retractile within large, inflated calyces. Six species comprising the genus Cactogorgia are transferred to Nidalia, and three new species are...
