อิทธิพลของสารยับยั้งแบคทีเรียต่อลักษณะเชิงคุณภาพของกุ้งก้ามกราม (Macrobrachium rosenbergii de Man) หักหัวแช่น้ำแข็ง Thai Agricultural
Somsamorn Gawborisut; Araya Aromrit.
The experiment was designed to investigate the effect of antibacterial agents including sodium lactate, sodium acetate, and sodium triphosphate at the equal concentration of 10% (w/w) on quality characteristics and shelf-life of headless giant freshwater prawns. The prawns were dipped (2 minutes) in each antibacterial solution and stored in ice. Quality characteristics including psychrotrophic bacteria, mesophilic bacteria, surface color, muscle hardness, muscular pH, total volatile base nitrogen, and sensorial scores (appearance, odor, hand-feel texture, and overall acceptability) were measured on day 0, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 after storage. All antibacterial agents had no effect on surface color, muscular pH, muscle hardness, odor, and hand-feel texture of...

Antibacterial Activity of Polygonum Orientale Extracts Against Clavibacter Michiganensis subsp. michiganensis, the Agent of Bacterial Canker of Tomato Disease BABT
Cai,Jin; Gao,Yichen; Wang,Mengliang; Zhang,Jing; Zhang,Yongbin; Wang,Qi; Liu,Jiquan.
Abstract Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm), which is a Gram positive bacterium, causes the bacterial canker of tomato disease. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the antibacterial activity of Polygonum orientale extracts against Cmm. In this study, firstly, effects of three extracting parameters (extractive time, extractive temperature, and solid to liquid ratio) of orthogonal experiment design L27 (313) were conducted. Secondly, survival rate was determined and inhibition zone of Cmm rescued post-stress was monitored. Finally, extracellular OD260nm value, extracellular protein content, conformational structure of membrane protein, extracellular alkaline phosphatase (AKP) activity, and ATPase activity were measured to investigate...

Chlorine dioxide against bacteria and yeasts from the alcoholic fermentation BJM
Meneghin,Silvana Perissatto; Reis,Fabricia Cristina; Almeida,Paulo Garcia de; Ceccato-Antonini,Sandra Regina.
The ethanol production in Brazil is carried out by fed-batch or continuous process with cell recycle, in such way that bacterial contaminants are also recycled and may be troublesome due to the substrate competition. Addition of sulphuric acid when inoculum cells are washed can control the bacterial growth or alternatively biocides are used. This work aimed to verify the effect of chlorine dioxide, a well-known biocide for bacterial decontamination of water and equipments, against contaminant bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus fermentum and Leuconostoc mesenteroides) from alcoholic fermentation, through the method of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), as well as its effect on the industrial yeast inoculum. Lower MIC...

Chemical composition and in vitro antibacterial activity of essential oils from Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack (Rutaceae) ripe and unripe fruits against bacterial genera Mycobacterium and Streptococcus BJPS
Silva,Flávia Fernanda Alves da; Fernandes,Cassia Cristina; Santiago,Mariana Brentini; Martins,Carlos Henrique Gomes; Vieira,Tatiana Manzini; Crotti,Antônio Eduardo Miller; Miranda,Mayker Lazaro Dantas.
This study aims to investigate chemical composition of essential oils from Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack (Rutaceae) ripe and unripe fruits and determine their in vitro antibacterial activity. Essential oils were extracted by hydrodistillation from Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack ripe and unripe fruits collected in the Cerrado, in Rio Verde, southwestern Goiás, Brazil. They were analyzed by gas chromatography with flame ionization detector (GC-FID) and by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Sesquiterpenes, which represent the most abundant class of compounds in oils, predominated in both ripe and unripe fruits. Major constituents of essential oils extracted from ripe fruits (RF-EO) were (-caryophyllene (21.3%), (-ylangene (13.3%), germacrene-D (10.9%)...
