Brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvatar lugens (Stål) is an important insect pest of irrigated rice cultivation areas in lower north, central and northeast Thailand. The field experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of nine insecticides include buprofezin 25% WP, buprofezin 5% + isoprocarb 20% WP, etofenprox 20% EC, ethiprole 10% SC, dinotefuran 10% WP, pymetrozine 50% WG, sulfoxaflor 50% WG, carbosulfan 20% EC and clothianidin 16% SG to control BPH in farmers’ fields at Suphan Buri, Nakhon Nayok and Ubon Ratchathani provinces. The results showed that the sulfoxaflor 50% WG and pymetrozine 50% WG which are new class insecticides, were the most effective insecticides that showed BPH control efficacy of 40-80% whilst the other insecticides which... |
