| This work was developed in the Paraíba River Valley between Jacareí and Pindamonhangaba municipalities. The objective was to analyze the different types of use of sand pits after the extraction of the mineral according to technical standards and economical viability. Based on the literature and consultations with environmental institutions and professionals that work in the area, several field observations campaigns were organized jointly by DEPRN, CETESB and the Environmental Police to characterize the profile of all mining companies. Different types of post-mining activities were found and the need to make the uses compatible with specific local characteristics was identified. |
