การคาดการณ์การระบาดของเพลี้ยกระโดดหลังขาวในจังหวัดเชียงรายโดยใช้กับดักแสงไฟ Thai Agricultural

Whitebacked Planthopper (WBPH), Sogatella furcifera (Horvath) has been a major pest in irrigated rice growing areas of Chiang Rai province since 2003. Light trap, an effective tool for monitoring the outbreaks of WBPH was conducted in hot spot areas. A light trap was set in Chiang Rai Rice Research Center while surveying in farmers’ fields in Chiang Rai province were investigated during January 2009 to December 2010. The number of WBPH caught from light trap was counted everyday throughout the year. The results showed that light trap could collect a large number of WBPH. The peak of WBPH in light trap was 9,703 hoppers/trap/month which related to the WBPH outbreak in farmers’ fields.

Population dynamic of golden apple snails related in rice planting phase at Chiang Rai provinces was conducted at irrigated rice field and rainfed rice field in Pan District from January 2012 – November 2014. The objective of this research is to determine the dynamics of golden apple snail population, which snails (applied removal sampling method) were randomly sampled consecutively by Quadrat sampling (1x1 m) at two-week interval. The results showed that the highest snails - density at irrigated rice field was in after harvesting phase but at rainfed rice field the highest density was in booting stage. Snail density showed slightly correlated with water level in rainfed rice field (rs = 0.517, P = 0.011, n = 23) but there was no correlation observed at...

In the Upper North of Thailand, the biggest wet season rice area is Chiang Rai province whereas the smallest is Mae Hong Son. In each year the rice area data from each organizes are different. Application of geographic information technologies by translating THEOS satellite image is one of channel for the classification of rice-growing areas of the two provinces. It can be use to predict the rice yield as well as use for the data base for rice research in Chiang Rai and also rice production for food security forecast of Mae Hong Son province.
