Intensidad luminosa y ácido giberélico en la producción de anturio para flor de corte. Colegio de Postgraduados
Rangel Estrada, Sandra Eloisa.

Post harvest of pink ginger floral stems treated with silver thiosulphate, sucrose, and calcium Horticultura Brasileira
Silva,Antonio Tarciso C da; Ferreira,Vilma M; Graciano,Érika SA; Souza,Renan C de; Araújo Neto,João C de; Loges,Vivian.
The Brazilian market of tropical flowers has been growing broadly with a strong participation of the Northeast Region, where the State of Alagoas stands out. Among the exporting tropical cut flowers, pink ginger (Alpinia purpurata (Vieill) K. Schum) has been one of the most promising species. Aiming at delaying senescence in floral stems of pink ginger, two laboratory experiments were carried out at the Agricultural Science Center of the Federal University of Alagoas. In the first experiment, three different exposure periods (30; 60, and 120 minutes) to silver thiosulphate 1 mM were tested, followed or not by pulsing in a 20% sucrose solution, for 12 hours. In the second experiment, we evaluated the effect of adding calcium sulphate 50 and 100 mM, sodium...

Production of ornamental sunflower irrigated with oilfield produced water in the Brazilian semiarid region PAB
Weber,Olmar Baller; Crisostomo,Lindbergue Araújo; Miranda,Fabio Rodrigues de; Sousa,Adervan Fernandes; Mesquita,Antônio Lindemberg Martins; Cabral,José Ednilson de Oliveira.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of irrigation with oilfield produced water on the concentration of some soil nutrients, as well as on the performance and concentration of nutrients in the roots and on aerial parts of the ornamental sunflower 'Sunbright' (Helianthus annuus), and to define the operating costs for the production of floral stems under an irrigated system. 'Sunbright' sunflower plants were cultivated in a Typic Quartzipsamment in the state of Ceará, Brazil, and subjected to drip irrigation treatments with oilfield produced water treated by filtration (PWF), or by reverse osmosis (PWO), besides a control treatment with groundwater (GW) from the Açu aquifer. The study was carried out for three successive...

Clonal evaluation of new ornamental pineapple hybrids to use as cut flowers Agronomy
Costa Junior, Davi Silva; Souza, Everton Hilo; Costa, Maria Angélica Pereira de Carvalho; Pereira, Márcio Eduardo Canto; Souza, Fernanda Vidigal Duarte.
Embrapa Cassava and Fruits has developed ornamental pineapple hybrids for several categories of ornamental use including cut flowers, potted plants and landscaping. The objective of this study was to carry out a clonal evaluation of two ornamental hybrids using quantitative and qualitative morphological descriptors to recommend these hybrids as new ornamental pineapple cultivars. Twenty plants of each hybrid (PL01 and PL04) were evaluated regarding the response to floral induction as well as the stability and homogeneity of the clones in two production cycles. The descriptive statistics were calculated and analyzed to determine the genetic distance based on the Gower algorithm. Four groups were formed, two using parental data and the other two containing...

Longevity of Epidendrum ibaguense inflorescences influenced by the storage temperature and ethylene inhibitor BABT
Santos,Joice Simone dos; Finger,Fernando Luiz; Mapeli,Ana Maria; Karsten,Juliane; Mendes,Teresa Drummond Correia; Barbosa,José Geraldo.
This work had the goal to evaluate the influence of temperature and dry storage on the postharvest longevity of Epidendrum ibaguense flowers previously treated with silver thiosulfate (STS). The flowers were harvested and pulsed for 30 minutes with 2 mM STS. Then both, the STS treated and untreated flowers were packed in perforated low density polyethylene bags, packed in cardboard boxes and stored at 5 and 10°C, where they remained for four and eight days. After this period, the flowers were kept in vase with distilled water at 25ºC, and analyzed at every 24 h. The experiment was arranged in a complete random design 2 x 2 x 2 factorial scheme, with four replicates, containing four inflorescences each, except for the determination of transpiration and...

Multiple nitrogen and phosphorus deficiency in Zantedeschia Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Fernandes,Katiúcia Dias; Paiva,Patrícia Duarte de Oliveira; Carvalho,Janice Guedes de; Resende,Aiesca Cecília; Figueiredo,Madeleine Alves de.
Multiple nutritional deficiencies are considered one of several factors that can induce doubt in the diagnosis based only in visual symptoms, because it makes identification more difficult. The aim of this work was to evaluate the development of Zantedeschia and the morphological changes resulting from nutritional disorders caused by multiple and simple nitrogen and phosphorus deficiency in plants grown in nutrient solution. Zantedeschia plants were grown for a period of eight months in a complete Hoagland and Arnon (1950) solution, with nitrogen (-N) omission, with phosphorus (-P) omission, with nitrogen and phosphorus (-NP) omission, and also nutrient solution with N and P at concentrations of 25, 50 and 75%, totalizing 7 treatments, with 4 replicates in...
