| O microcrédito hoje é um fator que vem contribuindo para o desenvolvimento econômico-social de pequenos e médios negócios, urbanos ou rurais. A política creditícia, regra geral é inacessível à maioria dos pequenos produtores ou empresários de pequeno porte, que não atendem as exigências de garantia real dos financiamentos bancários. Diante deste cenário é necessário criar instrumentos e estratégias adequadas às necessidades específicas destas categorias. | The aim of this investigation is to enrich the knowledge about nutrigenetics, a scientifictechnologyc paradigm in nutritional sciences. This new knowledge implies the interaction between nutrition and human genetic polymorphisms. However, the development of nutrigenetics will only be successful if the consumer, who has an essential role in this field, perceives clear health benefits, and if industries see a high potential for the development and innovation of food or genetic products, and commercial applications could be profitable. However, in order to achieve significant advances, it will be necessary a extensive economic investment in genomic research. |

| According to FAO (2005) about 13 million hectares of the word’s forest are lost due to deforestation. Naoto (2006) found Africa to lead the list of countries with the highest rate of deforestation. This worrisome situation is further aggravated by the possible negative impacts of climate change due to an increase in the mean global temperature. Evidence supports that Africa is most likely to suffer the most the devastating impacts of natural calamities such as droughts and floods.
