O Prosa Rural desta semana fala sobre agricultura sem queima, uma opção sustentável para a o meio ambiente e para a saúde do produtor. Quem acompanhar o pesquisador Silas Garcia, da Embrapa Amazônia Ocidental, vai conhecer as razões pelas quais não se deve usar o fogo na agricultura. Vai conhecer ainda os passos dessa prática, na qual se faz o corte da capoeira, a trituração e a distribuição uniforme dos pequenos fragmentos da vegetação sobre o solo, para, em seguida, realizar o plantio de frutas, verduras ou hortaliças. O programa também fala sobre os resultados positivos de produtividade, obtido pela agricultura sem queima. |

Horse grazing systems may affect productivity and biodiversity of understory developed under Pinus radiata D. Don silvopastoral systems, while acting as a tool to reduce the risk of fire. This study compared continuous and rotational grazing systems effect upon biomass, fractions of stem, sprouts, leaves and woody parts of Ulex europaeus L. and alpha (Species Richness, Shannon-Wiener) and beta (Jaccard and Magurran) biodiversity for a period of four years in a P. radiata silvopastoral system. This research aimed to determine the diversity and biomass of species in burned in the Jardín Botánico Nacional of Viña del Mar (JBN), region of Valparaíso, Chile (Lat. S 33° 02’ and Long. 71° 35’ O) from April to December 2012. Three sites were selected that were located on slopes with the same exposure: 1) site burned by fire in 2012, 2) site burned by fire in 2003, and 3) control site corresponding to an area without previous fires.
