Expansion of the biocontrol spectrum of foliar diseases in rice with combinations of rhizobacteria Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Souza Júnior,Ismail Teodoro de; Schafer,Jaqueline Tavares; Corrêa,Bianca Obes; Funck,Gustavo Daltrozo; Moura,Andréa Bittencourt.
ABSTRACT The cultivation of irrigated rice is subject to the occurrence of various diseases, where damage causes losses in productivity. Alternatives are currently being sought to control these diseases, with biocontrol a viable possibility. With the aim of broadening the spectrum of action of biocontrol, this study evaluated the effect of combinations of biocontrol bacteria on rice blast (Pyricularia grisea), brown spot (Bipolaris oryzae) and leaf scald (Gerlachia oryzae) in rice plants. The effect of isolate combinations was assessed by microbiolization of seeds from the rice cultivar El Paso L144 with suspensions of the bacteria DFs185 (Pseudomonas synxantha), DFs223 (P. fluorescens), DFs306 (unidentified), DFs416 and DFs418 (Bacillus sp.), used...

Critical-point models to relate yield and disease intensity of the multiple pathosystem in rice leaf spots disease Ciência Rural
Bordin,Luiz Carlos; Casa,Ricardo Trezi; Marcuzzo,Leandro Luiz; Reis,Erlei Melo; Gheller,André; Zancan,Rômulo Luís; Fingstag,Maiquiel Diego.
ABSTRACT: The occurrence of leaf spots in irrigated rice can reduce the yield and compromise the quality of the grain. However it is unknown the economic damage threshold (EDT) that these spots cause the yield of crop. The objective of this study was to obtain damage functions for models of critical, to relate damage by simultaneous occurrence of blast, brown spot and scald spot with grain yield harvests in 2011/12 and 2012/2013, in Rio do Oeste, Santa Catarina State, Brazil. Gradient of diseases intensity was generated by number of applications and fungicides rates. Design was a randomized block with four replications and six treatments consisting of mixing fungicide applications of triazole (difenoconazole) and strobilurin (azoxystrobin). In 2011/12 and...

Transmission of Microdochium albescens from seeds to seedlings in the pre-germinated cultivation system of irrigated rice Ciência Rural
Scheidt,Bruno Tabarelli; Garcia,Jaquelini; Casa,Ricardo Trezzi; Coelho,Cileide Maria Medeiros; Bogo,Amauri; Berghetti,Juliano.
ABSTRACT: The fungus Microdochium albescens is one of the main pathogens associated with irrigated rice seeds in southern Brazil. The objective of the present study was to quantify the transmission of M. albescens from naturally infected seeds to the crown, coleoptile, and first true leaf of the seedlings of six cultivars growing in pre-germinated cultivation system of irrigated rice. Seeding was carried out on a water-saturated substrate, using four untreated seed lots for each of the six cultivars. At 14 days after sowing, the crown, coleoptile, and first true leaf of the seedlings were carefully highlighted, and the samples were disinfected and plated onto potato-sucrose-agar culture medium. M. albescens was transmitted asymptomatically to crown,...
