Tratamientos precosecha con reguladores del crecimiento para retardar senescencia en frutos de limón mexicano almacenados en refrigeración Colegio de Postgraduados

Los experimentos se efectuaron en dos huertas comerciales de limón mexicano, ubicadas en Tecomán, Colima, México, durante los años 2003 y 2004. En ambos casos se determinaron los efectos de las aplicaciones precosecha, con diferentes concentraciones de reguladores del crecimiento, sobre el follaje de árboles de limón; en el primer año se probaron concentraciones de ácido giberélico (30, 20 y 10 mg∙L-1) y en el segundo año se aplicaron combinaciones de ácido giberélico, AG3 (Biogib®), N6-benziladenina (BA) (SIGMA) y ácido-3-indolbutírico (AIB) (SIGMA). Evaluation of vegetation indices and plant growth regulator use on the rooting of azalea cuttings Horticultura Brasileira

ABSTRACT The objective of our study was to develop a protocol enabling the use of vegetation indices to evaluate the rooting of Azalea (Rhododendron pulchrum cv. Sweet) cuttings. Six root growth parameters were recorded after exposing those cuttings to rooting media for 47 days. Among plants with different soil-plant analysis development (SPAD) and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) values, those with higher values exhibited significantly higher number of roots, root length, and root dry weight, suggesting that reflectance indices were useful in measuring the root growth parameters of the cuttings. Tobacco seeds are very small. This causes difficulty in sowing and resulted in uneven seelings.This experiment aimed to study types and concentrations of hormones for proportion of pelleting tobacco seeds. The experiment was conducted at laboratory of seed quality testing section, Seed Processing Plant, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University. The Virginia tobacco seeds were pelleted with pumice, fillers material at the rate 150 g and used hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) with concentrations 4 percent by weight as binder material. Agrobacterium rhizogenes vs auxinic induction for in vitro rhizogenesis of Prosopis chilensis and Nothofagus alpina Biocell

The induction and improvement of in vitro rhizogenesis of microshoots of Prosopis chilensis (Mol.) Stuntz and Nothofagus alpina (Poep. et Endl. Oerst.) were compared using Agrobacterium rhizogenes (Ar) versus indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) in the culture media. Microshoots of P. chilensis (1-2 cm length), coming from in vitro grown seedlings, were cultivated in a modified Broadleaved Tree Medium (BTMm) containing half salt concentration of macronutrients and 0.05 mg.L-1 benzilaminopurine (BAP). After 30 days, microshoots with 2-4 leaves were selected and cultured in BTMm-agar in presence or abscense of Ar and in combination with IBA. ABSTRACT: Drimys brasiliensis Miers is an Angiosperm native to the Atlantic Rainforest, commonly known as cataia. Because of dormancy of its seeds, due to embryonic immaturity, production of cataia seedlings presents challenges regarding propagation of the species. Thus, cuttings emerged as a possible technique to be applied, diminishing plants production time and ensuring uniformity of rooting.
