Insect survey using light traps and the field survey for collecting insect pests and natural enemies were conducted at Surin Rice Research Center during February 2014 to January 2015. The main objective of this study was to investigate the correlations between environmental factors and numbers of insect pests and natural enemies. The results revealed that rainfall, temperature and relative humidity were slightly correlated with numbers of insect pests and natural enemies. Additionally, number of pests was negatively correlated with number of natural enemies. Negative correlations were observed between number of parasitic wasps and numbers of white backed planthoppers, brown planthoppers, green leafhoppers and zigzag leafhopper. Number of orange ladybugs... |

Study about the accordance of rice insect pests from the light trap and the research data of insects in the rice seed of San-pah-tawng 1 (weak) and that of SuphanBuri 1 (resistant) was conducted from the year 2011 to 2013 at the Chiang Rai Rice Research Center. It’s found that the rice insect pests entrapped by the light trap being increased from the year 2007 to 2010. That in May, 2011, 4,779 zigzag leafhoppers were mostly found; in March, 2012, 19,248 whitebacked planthoppers were mostly found and; in May, 2013, 19,047 zigzag leafhoppers were mostly found. In the paddy field, rice insect pests were found in the rice seed of San-pah-tawng 1 more than that of Suphan Buri 1. In the In-season rice of the year 2011, the White backed planthoppers were mostly... |

During one year of the project called "Survey of the Entomological Fauna in Paraná State" (henceforth PROFAUPAR), 126,340 adult specimens of Trichoptera were collected with light trap. The individuais of the family Hydropsychidae were identified and a list of species is presented. Eighteen species in four genera were identified. From this, S. (R.) discalis Flint, 1972,5. (R.) paramnsis Flint, 1983;S (R.) spinulosa Flint, 1972 are for the first time registered for Brazil and Leptonema sparsum (Ulmer, 1905), Macrostemum hyalinum (Pictet, 1836), S. From 126,340 adult specimens of Trichoptera captured with light trap during one year of the project called "Survey of the Entomological Fauna in Paraná State" (Paraná, Brazil), 6,375 belong to the family Leptoceridae. The individuals of the family were identified and a list of species is presented. The following species are recorded for the first time to Paraná State: Achoropsyche duodecimpunctata (Navas. 1916); Nectopsyche aureovittala Flint, 1983; Nectopsyche fuscomaculata Flint, 1983; Nectopsyche muhni (Navas, 1916); Nectopsyche separata (Banks, 1920); Nectopsyche ortizi Holzenthal, 1995; Nectopsyche splendida (Navas, 1917) and Tripleclides gracilis (Burmeister, 1839). Discussion on individual abundance and species seasonality are also presented. |

Diversity of owlet-moth (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae) in Salvador do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The purpose of this paper is to describe the Noctuidae community in Salvador do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul. Light traps captured the insects of this research. The quantitative data were collected through weekly sampling, during one year (1994-1995); the qualitative data were collected through non-systematic sampling, during four consecutive years. The community characterization was based on the richness, abundance, specific constancy, diversity indices and abundance distribution; also total richness estimates were calculated, by nonparametric statistical procedures. In the systematized collecting there were captured 4017 noctuids of 108 species, distributed in 14... |

Arctiinae are a species-rich subfamily of moth, with approximately 1,400 species in Brazil and 723 recorded in the Cerrado biome. A list of species of these moths was compiled during three years of sampling in four vegetation types within the Emas National Park. A total of 5,644 individuals belonging to 149 species were collected. About 67% of these species are new records for the Emas National Park, 31% for the State of Goiás and 9% for the Cerrado biome. Cerrado sensu stricto and semideciduous forests have higher species richness, followed by campo cerrado and campo sujo. The vegetation type with the highest number of exclusive species was the semideciduous forest, followed by cerrado sensu stricto, campo cerrado and campo sujo. The high species richness... |
