Nicht mehr am Katzentisch Organic Eprints
Häring, A. M.; Dabbert, S..

School food provision in Germany. A first analysis of the role of organic produce Organic Eprints
Strassner, Carola; Nölting, Benjamin; Reimann, Silke.
School meal provision in Germany is changing from a type of supplementary food provision towards full warm school meals. Reasons for this transition are longer school days, the expansion of the all-day school model, and an increasing interest in a healthy nutrition for children and young people. However, the organisation of school meal systems is patchy and confusing; there is an enormous range of services in various qualities. This paper describes the current situation and explores chances for sustainable school meal systems emerging out of this change. The focus is on the use of organic food in school meals.

Anforderungen an die Kommunikation von "Werten" ökologischer Lebensmittel Organic Eprints
Zander, Katrin; Hamm, Ulrich; Stolz, Hanna; Stolze, Matthias.

Organic market development in Africa, Asia and Latin America: Case studies and conclusions for national action plans Organic Eprints
Kilcher, Lukas; Eisenring, Tobias; Menon, Manoj.
Organic market strategies of many developing countries are mainly export oriented. On one hand, this is due to lack of local and regional market development. On the other hand, this is due to the fact that the organic market offers producers and trading companies in the South and East excellent export opportunities. How can developing countries develop local and regional markets? The promotion of organic markets ¬– both on local and international level – gets more and more attention in agricultural policies and in development cooperation. One big challenge is to support trade rules and favourable business conditions up to comprehensive national action plans in order to support the development of the organic market. Special focus needs the development of...

Schultz, Irmgard; Birzle-Harder, Barbara; Stieß, Immanuel; Empacher, Claudia; Schubert, Steffi.

Mer økologisk skolemelk i Trondheim! Organic Eprints

Danish case report: The Danish Food Communities Organic Eprints
Kjeldsen, Chris; Noe, Egon; Laursen, Klaus Brønd.
The Food Communities was chosen as a case for HealthyGrowth because they constitute a major novelty within the Danish foodscape. As indicated in section 3, the Food 2 Communities have emerged as the latest incarnation of a series of attempts to forge alternative food networks operating beyond the supermarket system. Denmark is distinguished by a large market share of organic food being sold via supermarkets, but The Food Communities are a novelty due to two factors, (1) they have experienced a rapid growth since the outset in 2010, and (2) they are organised in a decentralised manner, where they continue to split up the network in chapters, each operating within their distinct local area. The Food Communities are a predominantly urban phenomenon.

EU organic logo and its perception by consumers Organic Eprints
Zander, Katrin; Padel, Susanne; Zanoli, Raffaele.
Purpose – With the introduction of the mandatory European Union (EU) organic logo for all organic food products in 2010, the European Commission aimed at fostering the internal organic food market. This needs consumers’ knowledge of the logo. According to earlier research consumers’ knowledge of the EU organic logo is low. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to elicit consumers’ attitudes towards organic certification and labelling and to develop recommendations on how to improve consumers’ knowledge of the EU organic logo. Design/methodology/approach – By means of an online survey with 3,000 participants in six European countries, knowledge of the logo and attitudes towards organic farming and European labelling, as well as organic food purchase...

Organic markets / consumers in Lithuania Organic Eprints
Rutkoviene, Vida; Abraityte, Gerda.
Abstract. Organic farming in Lithuania develops from the early 90 but up to the year 2000 the increase of number of organic farms and area under organic production was insignificant. In 2005 there were 1811 organic operators certified. The area of certified land was 69 430 ha, which is 2,7% of then total area of agricultural land in Lithuania. Action plan for de-velopment of Organic Agriculture in Lithuania fore-casts increase in number of organic farms and antici-pate that by 2006 the area under organic production will constitute 5% of the country farmland. Despite the growing production of organic foods the demand exceeds supply. Organic food is sold via as well su-permarkets (processed products) as direct sale (vegetables, fruit, potatoes). The aim of...

Naar een succesvolle boerenmarkt Organic Eprints
Schoutsen, Maureen; Vijn, Marcel.

Marktanalyse Öko-Hopfen 2012 – Deutschland, Europa, Welt Organic Eprints
Weihrauch, Florian; Meier, Heinrich.
