One species, fished in 1999 in the Bay of Biscay, determinated during 2001 according to two photographs, Aristostomias tittmanni, is recorded for the first time in the European Atlantic. Six other species, five fished with a pelagic trawl, Bathylagichthys greyae, Melanostomias bartonbeani, Macroparalepis affinis, Lobianchia gemellarii and Melanonus zugmayeri, one fished with a bottom trawl Ophidion barbatum, were recorded for the first time in tbe Bay of Biscay. The pelagic ichtyological fauna about -500 m, -1000m and -1500 m depth has changed between 1966 to 1968 and 2001 with a decrease of temperate cold affinities species, mostly Benthosema glaciale, and an increase of temperate warm affinities species, mostly Ceratoscopelus maderensis.
