Última Phoradendron Argentinum (Viscaceae), new mistletoe for the brazilian flora and its general distribution in South America Darwiniana The first collection of the mistletoe Phoradendron argentinum (Viscaceae) for the Brazilian flora is reported. A brief description, a key including the taxonomically closest species, photographs and a distribution map of the species are given. Lectotype of P. argentinum is here designated. During a review of herbaria in Argentina we found a specimen of Phoradendron rusbyi, which represents the third collection of the species and a new record for the flora of Argentina. This species is a little aphyllous plant, being a member of the group of hyperparasitic mistletoes, and was found in a mixed collection, parasitizing Phoradendron bathyoryctum. A morphological description of the species is provided, and its inclusion in Phoradendron confirmed. ABSTRACT: The goal of this work was to characterize morphometrically diaspores from three species of mistletoes (Passovia pyrifolia, Struthanthus marginatus e Phoradendron mucronatum), as well as to study its germination behavior according to temperature and luminosity. In germination tests, the completely randomized design was used, in factor scheme 4 x 2, with 4 replications of 15 diaspores. The factors for the first test were different temperatures and two diaspore conditions (intact and without epicarp). In the second test, factors were different light qualities and two diaspore conditions. Aprovechando la formación de anillos anuales de crecimiento en los hospedadores y que el sistema haustorial de los muérdagos va quedando sincrónicamente embebido en el xilema del hospedador, analizamos características edad dependientes de la historia de vida y del establecimiento de Misodendrum punctulatum cuando infecta a dos especies deciduas de Nothofagus en el noroeste de la Patagonia, Argentina. La determinación de la edad de establecimiento de las infecciones fue realizada examinando el número de anillos anuales de crecimiento del hospedador, en cortes transversales de ramas o troncos principales de Nothofagus, atravesados por el haustorio más profundo. Concomitantemente, se registró el número de eventos anuales de crecimiento (índice de edad aérea)...
