Oribatid mites in the Flevopark in Amsterdam (Acari: Oribatida) Naturalis
Doğan, S.; Ayyıldız, N.; Faraji, F.; Dilkaraoğlu, S.; Zeytun, E.; Ersin, F..
The Flevopark is one of the most special green areas of Amsterdam with a rich nature. Twelve oribatid mite species were collected here in 2014 from bark and mosses on trees. Liacarus acutus and Perlohmannia dissimilis are reported for the first time from the Netherlands. It is not clear if the newly recorded species have always been overlooked or are recent immigrants.

Provisional checklist of the astigmatic mites of the Netherlands (Acari: Oribatida: Astigmatina) Naturalis
Siepel, H.; Cremers, H.J.W.M.; Vierbergen, G..
Astigmatic mites probably form the most diverse cohort of mites. At present the former order of Astigmatina is ranked within the suborder Oribatida or moss mites. However astigmatic mites occupy a much wider range of habitats than other oribatid mites: from marine coasts to stored food, plant bulbs and houses. The vast majority live as commensals or parasites on a variety of hosts, ranging from insects to birds and mammals, inhabiting the fur, feathers, skin and even lungs and stomach. This first checklist for the Netherlands contains 262 species, but many more are to be expected. Brief data on occurrence and nomenclature are provided for each species.

New mossmites from The Netherlands (Acari: Oribatida) Naturalis
Siepel, H.; Dimmers, W.J.; Smits , N.A.C.; Vierbergen, G..
Mossmites are small micro-arthropods which live in the soil. In a number of ongoing Alterra-projects and checks of the Plant Disease Control Unit nine mossmite species have been recorded which were not yet included in the recently published Dutch checklist, nor in the supplements. The total number of mossmite species in the Netherlands is now 336. More species are to be expected in underexplored areas and habitats, some of which are to be investigated in the near future.

Checklist of the oribatid mites of the Netherlands (Acari: Oribatida) Naturalis
Siepel, H.; Zaitsev, A.; Berg, M.P..
More than fifty years ago Van der Hammen published the last checklist of oribatid mites (or moss mites) for the Netherlands. Since then the species number has almost doubled to 318 species, of which 100 are presented here for the first time. Brief data on occurrence and nomenclature are provided for each species. A short list of fossil species known from the Netherlands is presented seperately.

Zetorchestes-Arten aus Neuguinea und Japan (Acari: Oribatida: Zetorchestidae) Naturalis
Krisper, G..
A redescription of Zetorchestes saltator Oudemans, 1915 is given. In addition to that, two new Zetorchestes-species from New Guinea (Z. novaguineanus spec. nov., Z. vanderhammeni spec. nov.) and one new species from Japan (Z. aokii spec. nov.) are described in this paper. These four and some other similar species are compared in table 1. In the redescription and the descriptions attention is paid to the intraspecific morphological variability of body size, the shape of the anterior edge of the lamella, the position of the notogastric hair la, the number of the notogastric hairs, the number and position of the genital, anal and adanal hairs, and the shape of the edge of the lamella on femur II. It seems likely that the Zetorchestes-species from New Guinea...

Artengliederung und Verbreitung der Gattung Zetorchestes in Europa (Acari, Oribatida) Naturalis
Krisper, G..
This paper gives a description of Zetorchestes grandjeani spec. nov.; it is identical with those animals which are called "l'espèce de Pise" by Grandjean (1951). Ζ. grandjeani differs from Ζ. flabrarius Grandjean, 1951 and from Z. falzonii Coggi, 1898 in showing a reduction of hairs in the posterior area of the notogaster, interlamellar hairs of medium length, only one pair of adanal hairs and a difference in the microsculpture of the cerotegument. This species moreover differs from Z. falzonii in the following characters: the presence of the notogastric hair c1, only slightly developed cuticula-wrinkles, and the nearly complete absence of these wrinkles in the anogenital region; there are two little indentations on the border of the rostrum. In contrast...

The morphology of Epilohmannia zwarti spec. nov., an Oribatid mite from New Guinea Naturalis
Hammen, L. van der.
A detailed description is given of a new species of the genus Epilohmannia Berlese (Oribatida) from New Guinea. The relationships of the species are discussed. The mouthparts, characterized by the fusion of the epimera of the segments of palp and leg I, are compared with those of the Palpigradi (in which group these epimera have also fused).

Accattoli,Cecilia; Salazar Martínez,Ana E.; Martínez,Pablo A..

Mite diversity suborder Prostigmata associated with the plant rhizosphere soil of the Yotoco Nature Reserve,Valle del Cauca-Colombia Acta Agron. (Palmira)
Álvarez-Ríos,Leonardo; Mesa-Cobo,Nora Cristina.
Abstract: Yotoco Nature Reserve is a protected area for conservation purposes, is located at 3o53'18'' N, 76o20'5'' W, in the town of Yotoco with an altitude of 1526 m. a. s. l. The present research aimed to identify the diversity of mite suborder Prostigmata associated with the rhizosphere of plants of the Natural Reserve of Yotoco. Six samplings of soil and leaf litter between the surface and 5 cm depth were done in a radius of 1 m from the stem of plants, which are representative in each location of study. Samples were taken to the laboratory in styrofoam coolers. To isolate the mites, the Berlese-Tulgren funnel was used and mites were collected in vials with 70% alcohol. For permanent mounting in microscope slides, the Hoyer medium was used. A...
