Um dos mais marcantes fenômenos observados na economia agrícola brasileira nas últimas décadas, e de forma acelerada nos anos mais recentes, é o surgimento de novas fronteiras agrícolas. Sabe-se que um dos grandes problemas advindos do surgimento destas novas fronteiras agrícolas é a distância das mesmas as zonas portuárias. Visto que no trajeto até os portos, para exportação, os custos de transporte e as perdas auferidas são inúmeras. ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different sources of lipids in the diets of dairy cows on the intake and digestibility of nutritional fractions, and milk production and composition. The experiment was conducted in a 42-hectare area divided into eight paddocks covered with Brachiaria brizantha. Twelve crossbred Holstein × Zebu cows were distributed into three simultaneous 4 × 4 Latin squares. The treatments consisted of different sources of lipids, as follows: diet with no extra source of lipids; diet with cottonseed as the source of lipids; diet with soy oil; and diet with used frying soy oil. The present study evaluates the effects of two commercial phytotherapic formulations containing Glycine max (L.) Merr. (Soy) (Phytotherapic A and Phytotherapic B) on Wistar rat fertility. Doses were based on the manufacturer's recommendation and increased in a logarithmic scale. The animals were divided into six experimental groups and a control group, which received distillated water. Three groups were treated with Phytotherapic A and three groups were treated with Phytotherapic B. The doses were: 4.3mg.kg-1.day-1, 21.5 mg.kg-1.day-1 and 43 mg.kg-1.day-1, respectively, for GPA1, GPA2, GPA3, and GPB1, GPB2, GPB3. Investigation of the Acute Effects of Dry Extract of Glycine Max on Postprandial Glycemia in Rats BABT

The acute effects of Glycine max (GM) on post prandial glycemia (PPG) in male Wistar rats were investigated. All substances were orally administered by gavage in overnight fasted animals. The elevation of PPG promoted by starch (1g/kg) was prevented by GM (2.5 mg/kg, 5.0 mg/kg, 7.5 mg/kg, 10.0 mg/kg, and 100.0 mg/kg). In conclusion GM showed potential antidiabetic effect.

Evaluation of probiotic properties of Pediococcus acidilactici B14 in association with Lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC 4356 for application in a soy based aerated symbiotic dessert BABT

The aim of this study was to evaluate the probiotic properties of Pediococcus acidilactici B14 and to study its resistance in the gastrointestinal system when combined with Lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC 4356 and used in a potentially symbiotic aerated soy based dessert. P. acidilactici B14 showed some important probiotic characteristics such as survival rate of 45.9% at pH 2.5; 72.4% in 0.3% bile salts and 95.8% after gastrointestinal transit at pH 4.0. Tolerance against the antibiotics cephalexin, neomycin, vancomycin, cefotaxime and penicillin G was also observed. Influence of calcium chloride concentration on the physicochemical and sensory characteristics of tofu Ciencia e Investigación Agraria

The aim of this research is to evaluate the sensory texture and influence of calcium chloride concentration on the physicochemical and sensory characteristics of tofu. Samples were prepared from reconstituted soy milk (12% total solids). Calcium chloride at two different concentrations (0.3 and 0.5%) was used as a coagulant. pH, fat content, humidity and total solids were measured. Quantitative descriptive analysis was used to evaluate the sensory properties of springiness, hardness, friability, deformability, adhesiveness and cohesiveness.
