Physiological response of cidró to different water replacement levels in two seasons of the year Horticultura Brasileira
Schmidt,Denise; Caron,Braulio O; Schwerz,Luciano; Manfron,Paulo A; Elli,Elvis F; Schwerz,Felipe.
ABSTRACT We aimed to determine the response of cidró (Aloysia triphylla) submitted to different water replacement levels in summer and winter, in order to understand and relate the plant physiological performance under adverse weather conditions. The research was developed in a protected environment, in the city of Frederico Westphalen, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The experimental design was completely randomized, arranged in a 2x4x2 factorial scheme, two seasons of the year (summer and winter), four water availability (50, 75, 100, 125% of ETo) and two faces of leaf (abaxial and adaxial), with four replications. There were evaluated stomatal vapor diffusion resistance (s/cm), transpiration (µg/cm2/s) and leaf temperature (°C), on both faces of the...

Relación entre los componentes del balance de energía y la resistencia estomática en el cultivo de melón bajo acolchado plástico: (con 2 figuras y 1 cuadro) Phyton
Munguia,J; Zermeño,A; Quezada,R; De La Rosa,M; Ibarra,L; Torres-B,A.
This study analyzes the relationship between the changes in the energy balance components and the muskmelon stomatal resistance under plastic mulch conditions. This experiment was conducted in a muskmelon crop with and without plastic mulch, from April to July, 1998. To measure the energy balance components (net radiation (Rn), latent heat flux LE, sensible heat flux H and surface soil flux G). Eddy covariancestations were used; one was located in the plastic mulch section and the otherin the section withno plastic mulch. Each stationconsisted offast response kryptonhygrometer, aonedimensionalsonic anemometer anda fine wirethermocouple. The stations also have a net radiometer, 2 soil heat flux plates and two soil thermocouples of 4 parallel ends. The...

Although the 3-PG model is widely used for forest productivity calculations, there are processes that do not present appropriate physical treatment. The aim of this study was to generate a tool to improve the water balance calculation in the model to enhance the energy balance and transpiration process. The calculation of transpiration was modified to account for variations in solar radiation with the inclination and azimuth of the terrain; the vapor pressure deficit was changed based on the relative humidity and air temperature; and the stomatal conductance varied according to solar radiation, vapor pressure deficit and air temperature. The water storage in the soil varied with the depth of the root system and the total water availability (TWA) in the...

Water osmotic absorption in Coleus blumei plants under salinity stress BABT
Sena,José Ozinaldo Alves de; Zaidan,Humberto Actis; Castro,Paulo Roberto de Camargo e.
Three month old Coleus blumei plants in pots were treated with different NaCl concentrations: 0.00, 0.25, 0.50 and 1.00%. To determine the water osmotic absorption, the plants had their stems cut at 10 cm from the soil surface. The remaining stems were linked to glass tubes by flexible rubber tubes. Readings of the water column level in the glass tubes were performed at each 30 minutes, corresponding to the water osmotic absorption, with a total of eleven readings. Other Coleus blumei, with the same age, received the NaCl concentrations, and were evaluated under field conditions in terms of transpiration and stomatal resistance. A randomized complete block analysis was used with five replications. An increase of osmotic absorption was verified for all...
