A study on ecological engineering on rice to develop sustainable means to reducing crop losses due to rice pest outbreaks were taken in wet season, 2011 at Chiangrai Rice Research Center and in farmer’s field at Phan District, Chiangrai Province. The main objective was to compare between of Ecological Engineering (EE) means (EE site) and farmer’s practices (control site) as well as the effects on numbers of pest and natural enemies. The numbers of species and amount of each insect pest and natural enemies were collected by visual counting, sweep net, yellow pan trap, egg bait trap and D-vac machine. It was found that : the major pest in EE site was Nephotettix spp. Whereas major natural enemies was spider such as Lycosa psedoannulata, Oxyopes sp., Argiope... |
