Analisa a validade dos metodos mais usuais para regioes semi-aridas. Fez-se um estudo comparando medidas de ETP realizadas em evapotranspirometro tipo Thornthwaite de lencol freatico constante com estimativas por diferentes metodos. Os metodos usados com os respectivos coeficientes de correlacao foram os seguintes: Metodo do Tanque Classe A, 0,82; Radiacao Solar, 0,81; Thornthwaite, 0,58; Penman, 0,82; Blaney-Criddle, 0,32; Jensen-Haise, 0,68; Hargreaves, 0,68; Benavides-Lopez, 0,86 e Linacre, 0,86. |

ABSTRACT Minas Gerais is vulnerable to climate change, with negative impacts on water balance and changes in the cultivation of several crops. Currently, the olive crop has been an alternative source for farmers, especially those in the South of the state. However, there is no information on areas with climatic conditions suitable for olive cultivation, as well as the possible impacts of climate change.
