ABSTRACT Mixture of antagonist agents and form of application may influence in the control of root-knot nematodes. Thus, the aim of this work was to study the action of a biological product based on enzyme mixtures, Bacillus sp. and Trichoderma sp., at different concentrations on hatching, motility, mortality and reproduction of Meloidogyne incognita in tomato, considering two ways of application of the product. Eggs and second-stage juveniles (J2) of M. incognita were placed in biological product solutions at concentrations: 0, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 40 g L-1. The same concentrations were applied to planting pits or to the soil surface. Afterwards, 3,692 eggs of M. incognita were inoculated in tomato crop. A significant reduction in J2 hatching of M.... |

The production of peptaibols by a marine-related Trichoderma longibrachiatum strain was studied using electrospray ionisation multiple-stage ion trap mass spectrometry (ESI-MSn-IT) and gas chromatography/electron impact mass spectrometry (GC/EI-MS). Two major groups of peptaibols were identified, those with long sequences (20 amino acids) and others with short sequences (11 amino acids). This paper describes the methodology used to establish the sequences of short peptaibols in a mixture without previous individual separation. Nine peptaibols were identified. Among them, eight are new, namely as trichobrachin A I-IV (Aib(9)-Pro(10) sequence) and as trichobrachin B I-IV (Val(9)-Pro(10) sequence). Original Pro(6)-Val(7) and Val(9)-Pro(10) sequences have to... |

A marine-related Trichoderma longibrachiatum strain isolated from mussels in a farming shellfish area was investigated for total lipid (TL) production, total lipid fatty acids (TLFA), and phospholipid fatty acids (PLFA). Fungal biomass was produced from two different marine-like culture ways, on agar surface and submerged fermentations (ASF and SmF, respectively), allowing useful comparisons. ASF produced a rather higher biomass amount than SmF with similar TL content. All fatty acids (FA), identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), were ranged from 14 to 30 carbon atoms. Similar FA compositions were found in TL and phospholipids (PL) from biomasses obtained by both fermentation systems, including oleic (up to 15.3% of total FA mixture for... |
